4 wire vs 2 wire Jandy Heater to iAquaLink

I had my PB rewire the Jandy heater I got last year from a 2 wire set up to a 4 wire set up today. I had believed there were some advantages to doing this with regards to function and diagnostics. That said, I can’t see a single thing different in my iAquaLink app. What am I missing? Is there...

    pH in colder water

Quick question: this year I’ve left my pool open longer than normal. Not to swim but just haven’t closed yet. The water temp is down to 55. During the pool season my pH drifts up pretty quickly and I constantly have to bring down with acid. It’s not surprising as my SWG is at 40% and I have a...

Algae growth on under side of spa coping

Took care of it yesterday. Hit it pretty hard and scrubbed quite a lot and got off all the green. Bits and pieces on the spa steps which washed away when I refilled the spa. Decided to super chlorinate the SWG for 24 hours as well. Any concerns? Should I brush the inside of the spa extra well...

Algae growth on under side of spa coping

Hi all, Just got into the spa for the first time in a while and found algae growing on the under side of the coping. It’s not on the water line or under the water. My chemistry has been fine and CC has been 0.5 consistently for a while. I’m keeping FC well above minimum but like I said, this is...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

I meant this on the app before going to the web. I’m going to play with the multiple temps.

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Interesting. I’ll have to play with having 2 temps. Does it allow you to select from them from them on the quick app screen? At full speed with heater on probably over 30 psi but I’ll check later. What’s max speed on the VSF? 3600rpm? with heater off it’s probably lower (the Versaflo bypasses...

I thought so too, but a wire was loose in the iAquaLink box so i adjusted and it fixed it. I realized it because my pump wasn’t showing automation mode on the digital screen.

Ugh. Now my iAqualink has a red dot and won't connect to the app. edit: and fixed.

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Higher rpm when the heater comes on? :) What temp do you keep heater at? What's your IC60 set at to be able to run the pump 24 hours a day? Does your spa spillover stay on all the time? The way we are plumbed the spa spillover can't be turned off (unless in spa mode). We are located in similar...

So they did not use the 4 wire. One 4 wire port was used for the iq-20 upgrade. The other was used for both the VSF Pentair pump and the old pda controller for the box. It’s a bit odd. The heater is on a 2 wire.

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Couple of clarifying questions: did you mean the pump should be as high as I can get it? what psi on my filter is too high? What if I exceed 100gpm and not realize it? so rather than schedule you suggest I leave the heater on all the time and define a temp to keep it at? Or just turn it on...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Why 3000 rpms? How does that translate to flow? Doesn't this depend on my specific plumbing? If I was up at 3000 rpm my filter psi would be over 25. Yes, I just got the new iAqualink upgrade. Yes, it's controlled by the iAqualink app. I do not control it from the heater itself. For some reason...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Pool heater installer came back today and worked on it for 3 hours or so. He talked to Jandy on the phone. He replaced some wire they used with a copper wire instead (related to the Louver on some circuit board) - he was told to by Jandy support on the phone. That fixed that problem with the...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

I emailed tech support and here is what they said. Basically, just “turn it off”. Lol. Seems oddly simple. I’ll try it but a bit odd that’s what would cause the heater to fire intermittently? Hello, The setting is intended for actuating a mechanical lover that is attached to a door for air...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Thanks. It’s set to run at 2950 rpm for heater mode and that seems high to me. The filter pressure is higher than with my old pump (single speed Pentair whisperflo 1.5hp) using the old Hayward heater and that heater started just fine until it broke (25 psi vs 18 psi). And even now I have to turn...

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Thanks he will be trying Monday and also calling Jandy. This JXi doesn’t use the Louver (no wires run to it in the diagram) so a bit odd.

    Jandy JXI with Versaflo Heater

Yeah, gas line and water both coming in from the same side. I get why he plumbed it that way - probably the easiest thing to do. With the extra turns/bends - does that mean the pump will need to run at higher rpms to increase pressure more? He’s never seen this error code either so he said he...
