It is more than likely pollen from trees. This year especially has been killer on pollen from trees. Went to my car in the morning last week and the front end was yellow with pollen. It sinks to bottom when pump is off.

I only had to bond the pool to the pump. There is a connector on the pump and put #8 copper wire to the pump and connect the other end to the side wall connector screws( just one screw). That is what our municipal code called for...i didnt even burry it.

I just picked up two magnetic led lights that really light my 24' round pool pretty well. They run on 3 AA batteries. They are 12 LEDs each.

I used two pounds of baking soda and raised TA from 80 to 90...so your TA should be easily over 110. Now get some borax and use the pool calc to figure how much to add to increase your pH.

I have found that clear covers when put on my pool and left on heated up water very quickly, but also aided in growth of algae when left on for long period of time! 7-10 days...even when bringing chlorine up to as high as 18 ppm before going on vacation. Never had this issue With blue covers...

If you are just using it for a small pool...throw it away at the end of the year and buy it new next spring.

I think what you are seeing is Mosquito Larvae...I had a bucket that had rainwater in it sitting out behind my garage...and when I went to dump it...I saw the same thing...little 1/2 to 3/4 little buggy wormlike thingies. I poured in a 1/4 cup of bleach and walked away...came back 5 minutes...

The nice thing about those is that the water sits on the top of it and acts as ballast and keeps the cover from blowing in the wind. I also use my left over August and September Chlorine bottles filled with water and tie them to the eyelets on the cover and throw them on top of the cover...not...

It wasa loose elbow connector on suction side, went overand checked it and found the elbow wasnt tightened down. We teflon taped it again and tightened it down good...reconnected the hose thar ran from pump to filter, and it was all good. Strong suction and 14-16 psi and steady.

My buddy has an 18 foot pool with a sand filter. He has filled with water and has pump running. His problem is that he very little suction on the skimmer side. Water is flowing through, but he feels no draw of water down the skimmer. When he tries to vacuume the vacuume hose cover does not...

Question...I have a one speed 2 HP pump...Should I...1.) put more somewhat larger holes in my cooler? Or does that matter? If I went with the smallest drill bits I could find and drill wholes for more of a mist...Wouldn't that put a lot of pressure back ward into my system with a 2 HP...

If you over inflate or fully inflate this will happen. Only fill about 2/3 to 3/4 full and there shouldnt be any trouble. Last year i forgot this and blew mine out in December.

The only time I ever damaged my liner was when a puck dropped to the bottom of pool.while on vacation. Sis in law accidentally did it. Sat there for two days. Bleach or liquid chlorine never been a problem. Dont worry!

So thats why my 100 lb Newfie always digs a hole to lay in duting the summer...we just thought she liked being dirty!!!

Any ideas on Man Made Shade for an above ground Pool? We used to have trees...big ones 85 feet or taller on the east...neighbors got a pool and they all got cut down. Now my pool topped out at 96 degrees last summer and it wasn't even fun to get in it. Does anyone have any ideas for man made...

Checked at lunch...and pH is drifting back downward toward 7.5...Funny thing is that the tempurature had drifted down from 94 Tuesday and 92 Wednesday to 87 today. Is there a correlation between TEMP and pH?

Julie...bring it to shock level...put solar cover on if you have one...run pump 3-6 hours per day and you'll be fine. I was gone from June 8th to the 18th...shocked up to 16 ppm...put solar cover on...set timer to run from 10am to 4 pm...and when I got back...I still had 1 ppm of FC...0 CCs...
