I just bought one and tied it out today. It tries to climb out of the pool every time and it did not come with the restrictor plate. It also gets stuck on everything. The lights, the jets, the drain. Can anyone give any advice on how to keep it from getting stuck on everything?

It's about 24 Celsius or 74 Fahrenheit. I just can't figure where else water would come from that has no chlorine in it.

Is this issue with the exchangers well known within the industry? If I call Hayward can I expect them to blame me or readily admit these issues? Lastly, if it is a hole in the exchanger, should it not leak all the time with the water showing chlorine on a test?

I just had the pool company come and close my pool this morning. Same company that I always use. This time though they didn't put in the plugs. Three are yellow which go in the returns, and one is black. Not sure where that one goes. Is this a big deal?

Vacuumed some remnants last night and left pump off all night. Nothing new settled. Turned pump back on and hopefully can start adding salt and CYA tonight. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Vacuumed again today after leaving the pump off all night. Water much clearer although still a little murky. Added some more CL, and have run the pump most of the day. Going to turn it off again and see if any more settles.

At what point would you go back to regular vacuuming instead of waste?

I'm working on it. I've got water bags laid down around the area of entry right now.

I know shocking won't fix dirt but will hold off any growth while I have the pump off letting things settle. Not only that, I have drained so much water my salt is too low to create chlorine. Just going to add CL manually till things are under control.

Thanks for all the advice. The reason I suspect I will need another dose of floc is because after vacuuming the water is still quite murky. I believe there to be a lot of dissolved dirt that the filter won't catch. In any case I am refilling now and will vaccuumed and filter for a couple days to...

Just vacuumed. Could only do the shallow end before the level of water got too low. Anyhow, the shallow end while brighter, is still quite cloudy and murky. I'll see how the filter does but I'm not overly hopeful about avoiding another floc treatment.

On my way home and am gonna vacuum to waste. I'll refill and filter. Gonna check where my CL is as well
