CSI and being off on ph reading

Quite right, the fact I have access to them at work is irrelevant, to re-phrase then: I Use both the indicator test and pH meters, I find the pH meters very easy to use and accurate to two decimal places, if cost and the extra time required to calibrate them from time to time is not an issue...

CSI and being off on ph reading

I have pH indicator test at home and two pH meters at work, I'm also paranoid about pH (for the exact same reasons as you are) that I test every second day using all three! I recommend the meter, not sure why there is an opposition to them on here, I find it very easy to use and accurate but do...

    Aussie test kits and hello

What intrigues me is that the NQPTK people / person monitor this forum (Even link to it on their website) but still don't come out and have a discussion about what's going on, I've seen it before in an unrelated industry, when things are not going smoothly refusing to communicate is the worst...

    Aussie test kits and hello

Yeh mate their MO is not to communicate it seems, I don't understand it myself but at least they're consistent about it! Still no shipping notice from poolvacparts either though, might be an industry thing?

    Newbie From Perth Western Australia.

The Australian NQ pool test kit ( which has no relation to the TF-100) works for CH but the instructions are wrong, it states "orange to green" when they really mean purple to blue, repeat the test and look for a colour change to blue, note don't give up it could be up to 40 to 45 drops of...

    Aussie test kits and hello

I placed my order for a K-2006C with poolvacparts on the 21/10/15, it has not been dispatched as yet but when I e-mailed them they did respond a few days later saying there would be a delay as they were waiting on some of the order to arrive in. I paid $65 for express 3-5 day delivery, so far...

Understanding the differences b/t the TFPC method and SWG manual

Thank you Dave for the very detailed response, it is all starting to fall into place , you guys must get tired of repeating the same thing over and over to us newbies but "We" do appreciate all the help and guidence from you all! PS The TFPC salt level simply manufacturers rec + 200ppm.

Awsome - thank you people, makes sense, particualry given my current issues of calcium flakes and high acid demand - stay the course!

Understanding the differences b/t the TFPC method and SWG manual

Not questioning it per se and I am heading down the TFP route, but I would like to understand it....below a table of TFPC targets and targets specified by my SWG user manual. Salt CYA FC TA pH CH TFP Ideal 4200 70 5 70 7.5 350 SWG Manual ideal 4000 50 2 120 7.5 225...

First test - some help needed please

Thanks Guy's managed to to get the jets facing up after all, some reasonable aeration happening but not heaps, probably had about 9hrs running with the jets up and TA does seem to be coming down a bit, one part of the pool (Next to the jets) tested 90 and the other end 110. Have topped up the...

First test - some help needed please

OK thanks Jezza, will do exactly that - jets won't adjust enough to break the surface so I will make some kind of aerating device on the W/E - I saw some piccies on here somewhere.

    Aussie test kits and hello

Hi Jezza Just the powder and one reagent..."25 ml sample, 2 scoops of C-0201 (DPD powder) swirl to mix, sample will turn pink, add C- 0202 (FAS-DPD titratingreagent) swirling and counting until colour changes pink to clear, multiply drops by 0.2" that's it...or for high FC use 10ml one scoop...

    Aussie test kits and hello

Just looking at the kit and wathcng some youtube vidoes using the FSD/DPD method, if I'm right then this NQ test kit doesn't contain the reagent to test for CC, it can only test for FC....from my very limited understanding I would say this is a major drawback of this kit???

Well good timing Noob (Sorry your handle way too hard to spell), here is the low down I ordered the NQ-100 on the 13/10, a few days later they sent a form e-mail to everyone to say they were out of stock and made a genuine apology for the error (Internet site showed stock on hand when in fact...

Best options for salt content testing

Yes but at this stage I cannot reccomend them, still waiting on some action from NQPTK, they have taken my money (And others) but cannot deliver the testing kits, they did send a general e-mail apologising for the situation which is a start I guess but it is frustrating not knowing whether they...

Best options for salt content testing

Appologies if covered recently but what is the best recommendation for testing salt levels in pools? I have seen kits (Such as the Taylor salt test kit) and strips and alos some kind of meters - advice greatfully received. (Need to test 4000ppm +/- for SWG).
