Best Manual Pool Brush/Vac? 18' AGP and 1.5hp pump

Try increasing the suction on your manual cleaner. The increase in suction will help keep the head on the pool surface.

    Hayward Aqualogic controller tripping

It sounds like when the unit tries to apply power to the T-Cell it trips the breaker. On the back metal plate, there are two square parts wit four terminals each. Carefully remove and mark the wires from these devices. Then try powering up the unit. It will give you an error code, but if it does...

Polaris VRX iQ+ issues & questions

Before I purchased my current robotic cleaner, I tested several different makes and models. In my pool I have a, for the lack of a better word, an underwater bench. It is about two feet below water level and about two feet wide. I found that the robots which have tracks could climb up this...

    Pellet grills

I have a Pit Boss pellet grill I purchased from Lowes. I recently had an issue with one of the casters. Pit Boss replaced the leg and the castor. I talked with them on Monday and the parts arrive on Friday. I call that good service.

    Solar heater issue

The pump was pumping water. Had good circulation. My pressure gauge has two markers: one for setting clean filter pressure and a second for clean filter pressure. When I cleaned the filter it was just above the clean filter pressure indicator.

    Solar heater issue

I have a solar heater controlled by my AquaPlus controller. The controlling valve is a three port motor operated valve. Recently it looked liked the solar heater was not working i.e. the pool was not warming up. A couple of years ago, I had the same issue, and I replaced the internal parts of...

Missing cogs or teeth on one or more gears? Swapping wheels seems to point to this.

    Worth Voiding Warranty for SWG?

Pool salt water is slightly more corrosive than tap water. Something to think about: How long is the pool's warranty? If it is one year than it probably won't make much difference. I would think that the pool would not corrode in one year with salt water.

    Pool eXact Photometer feedback

I have a similar unit. The so called test strips are simply a method of delivering a measured amount of reagents to the test sample. Similar to adding drops to the test sample on the TFT test kit. I have found the test results from my unit to be close to that of the TFT test kit. There is a bias...

    iCare Smart Water Monitor

I once tested a hand held ORP meter. If the CYA was over 30~40 ppm, varying the FC from 1 to 6 ppm changed the ORP reading by 50mv. It was not a reliable indication.

    iCare Smart Water Monitor

Chlorine is measure via ORP. ORP is only useful if your stabilizer level is below 30 ppm.

    Dolphin m400 change cleaning mode

Your particular model may not have that mode, or you are using the wrong app. On my app, at the top of the screen are selections for various types of settings: Home, Cleaning Mode, Weekly, Cycle Time, Delay Time, Voice Control, Manual Drive, Visual Effects, Support and finally Settings. If you...

    Aqua Plus Aux1 Sweeper Flow?

I have a AquaPlus controller. Does the sweeper have it's own pump? Are you turning the sweeper pump on/off to control the sweeper? You can wire in an external flow switch, but will need to connect it to a timer. When the pump powers up, the delay time powers up through the flow switch (NC). If...

White Water Mold getting worse during SLAM?

Try adding some Poly 60 algacide. I have had a similar problem in the past. The stuff laughs at SLAM chlorine levels. The Poly 60 gets rid of it fairly quickly.

    3 Year Review - Maytronics S300i

Did you replace the brushes? If not a suggestion, find some brushes which are the same size or a bit larger (eBay?). Use sandpaper to reduce the size to fit. Brushless DC motors are quite a bit more expensive (about 4~5x).

    Suing a builder

I had a problem with my pool builder in that he wouldn't finish. Finally he put in everything but the solar heater. At that point, what I owed him was more than what the solar heater cost. He tried to get me to pay the installer directly, but I told him that the contract was with him, not the...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

I have had my Active 30i for about a year and have never cleaned the robot itself. No build-up of slime. In any case I would look at the rubber flap and make sure it is sealing.

    Chemtrol vs Rola-Chem Chemical Automation

The problem with ORP is that with CYA levels 30 ppm and above, the ORP level will not change even with a significant change in FC level. If you want to use ORP, then you must keep your CYA levels 20 ppm or lower.

    Chemtrol vs Rola-Chem Chemical Automation

Stay away from ORP. Good commercial chlorine probes should last a number of years. Municipal water and wastewater plants use them. They do need to be calibrated and there is a maintenance schedule associated with them.

    AquaVac 650 Power Supply

This will void any warranty. Disconnect the power supply for the outlet, and open it up. See if there is a fuse connected to the incoming power. Replace it. Fuses can blow in such a way that they can pass small amounts of power, however open when higher current are demanded. They act like resistors.

Dolphin Active 20 will climb 90deg walls but not 45deg?

You might try replacing the treads. The unit depends on suction for much of its down force. When it is at an angle, the part of the cleaner where the suction is, is off the pool wall/floor reducing that down force. New treads might increase the coefficient of friction enough for it to climb the...

    Polaris PVF965iQ vs. Dolphin Premium

Its been my experience that the track based Maytronics units climb walls better than the wheel based Polaris models. I also have heard that the filters in the Polaris unit degrade quite quickly, tearing apart at the seams.
