The guy that built the pool came by yesterday and said using bleach will fade and damage the vinyl liner. Is that true? My returns are in the shallow 3ft end.

Opening, water was below the returns so new water was added. I have some tablets in the pool frog which I know everyone dislikes around here. I will go by walmart tomorrow and get some bleach. How much should I get?
