Pretty sure the CYA reading is accurate. Pulled it up to that level SLOWLY with use of pool-calc and TF100. Thinking about just keeping FC at about 10, but then comes the issue of how to test. Obviously, OTO is out for levels that high and unable to test Ph at those levels, and drop testing...

Was curious because at high shock levels (28ppm), was looking for a way to check often without using so much regent. Obvious OTO is not a solution here. Haven't seen it cover and wanted to ask.

Mostly curious about FC testing with the TF-100. I understand the extended test results for getting testing down to .2 ppm, but is it possible or wise to save on regent and test for higher levels? Such as using 5 ml of water...would that make each drop of regent value be 1ppm? And....can you...

A bit confused here. For CYA of 70 on SWG, one says shock level is 20, the other says 28. Which one?? Thanks for all your help!!!!

Dave,Jason,...Bang..you guys nailed it again! Brought the FC up to shock and running filter 24/day clear it right up. OCLT and CC in great shape on day 2..worked fast! (a little shot of synthetic DE may have helped too) Just wanted to say thanks again!!!

Just a little confused on the "optimum" CYA level for the pool with SWG. I "think" I understand that 70-80 is proper, but of course don't want to go to high. Looks like the FC Target is offset by the CYA. Pool look very good, but with my eyes, I see some cloudy/dull water that others don't...

Wallyworld has a pretty fair bag net for $12-$13. Worked well for my pool and not so big it's hard to pick up. Just my $.02........

Put 3 lbs. wallyworld (Aquachem) CYA in yesterday via sock hung from ladder. Almost all disolved in 24 hours (may have 2 oz. still in sock) and my Ph went from approx 7.7 to 7.2/7.1 in that time. Is this kind of drop normal/expected? Don't think it's a problem.....just surprised how fast it...
