    Spa Blower

I know they are indoor blowers, but that's not a problem. The Spa Pack isn't waterproof either, as isn't one of the other pumps. I;m going to build some kind of mini-shed thing over them. Like those rubbermaid storage sheds with the hinged lid and front doors, accept out of wood. I've seen...

    Spa Blower

Turns out the hot tub I bought is supposed to have a blower and the guy can't find it. The spa was stored in the garage of a property he owns with renters and he thinks they took it with when they moved out(on accident). So, I need a new blower. I've toyed with the idea of using a leaf blower...

    SWG and Heater?

Will using a SWG in a spa/pool (the water will mix) cause any problems with the elec. spa heater/stainless tube? I may not have the SWG right away but, the water will probably saltwater because it felt good last year. Thanks, Adam

    solar?

The solar button is for a solar pool heater(if you have one installed). If you have pipes running up to your roof or black plastic panels on the roof(or elsewhere) then you have solar heat. If you don't have any panels, then the button might not do anything, or it might be set to control...

    Japanese Mall Fountain

I want one for my pool! I saw this on TV once before, except it was behind a Jeep booth and they had the Jeep logo, and pictures on Wrangers falling from it... Preety neat IMO. Adam

    What's your current pool temp?

Not sure... We took ours down on Sunday. It's sitting in our back yard drying out right now. It was aprox. 47 when we took it down. Unfortunately, our solar panels blew right off the roof last week when we had strong wind. The sun did a number on the white plastic straps over the summer...

    Pisces Pool Build

Looks great so far! I can't wait to see it when it's done. The Artists conception looks great and I bet it will look even better in real life. I'm just wondering how they are planning to correct the piping in the spillover? Looks like they will have to beak some of the Gunite on the spa. Adam

Verification of proper 1st time closing.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this. What about using a leaf blower to get the water out? I used one to get all of the water out of the lines in our hot tub and it worked great. I have a similar situation to Maveri. My pipes are also U shaped also, and I plan to use a leaf blower to get the...

    Wiring Question

Alright thanks. Hmmm. I'm not sure if I'll do anything about the acrylic. It doesn't really look like it's cracking so much as it looks like paint chipping off th side of the house. Will this get bigger if left untouched? At least I don't have any plumbing leaks. I don't know what I...

    Wiring Question

On my unit, the heater tube is outside the pack. It's kind of half and half in the back, but it can be seen from the outside. Is there any way to tell if the bulb is meant to be wet or dry mounted? The one on this control is made of grey plastic if that makes any difference. I'll probably go...

Question about junk getting through filter

You mentioned having Spa Jets. Do these bubble air when you turn them on? IF they do, this may be the air inlet for the Venturi jets. That would explain the drilled cap too. Unless of course, you have an air control valve somewhere near the pool already. When you run the spa jets with enough...

    Wiring Question

Hmmm... I bet I could make one of those out of a Tee and a PVC bushing. Can the temp. bulb get wet? Also, does it have to fit snugly in the hole making direct contact with the sides of the sleeve? Thanks, Adam

Need Check valve and pump run hours?

If you use a PVC line for backwash then I almost gaurantee that's where the air comes from. I get the same thing on mine when I switch to backwash. It will let some air in and it will get to the pump quickly because when you push down on the handle, all of the ports are open. HTH, Adam

    Wiring Question

Just one thing... For 120v operation, you have the wiring backwards. (Copy & Pasted out of the manual) : Use appropriate size wire nuts to connect the blue wire to line1, the white and red wires to neutral, and the green wire to ground. I'll probably just end up doing what you suggest with the...

    Wiring Question

Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!!!   You don't even know how much I appreciate it. Now I can begin the process of hooking this thing up. Even if it is only 30* and snowing off and on. Thanks again, Adam

    Wiring Question

Thanks! I know that the 1.4Kw heater won't put out a lot of heat, but the tub isn't that big and I'm not using the elec. heat by itself. I'm also heating it with solar panels. The elec. heat(at least for now, until it snows) is a supplement to get it the last few degrees, or to keep it warm...

    Wiring Question

Wasn't sure if this whould be posted here or in the "Spa Use/Care" thread. Just got a new(used) hot tub and I have some questions about the Spa Pack(pump and heater part). The heater is a Pinnacle systems PE-40 A-L-G. It has a 120(1.375KW)/240(5.5kw) heater and I plan to run it on 120. There...

    Moving a Hot Tub

We just moved a spa actually. Got it used and it was already mostly apart. The spa pack(pump and heater) were removed and the skirt was taken off. We rented a u-Haul trailer (5'x9') for the 6' x 7.5' spa. We flipped it upside down and set one side of the top of it in the trailer, and leaned the...

    Pool leak

Are you talking about the water level in the Pump skimmer basket or the pool level? Bubbles in the pump pot make me think suction side leak. It would make sense that there are more bubbles when the cleaner is hooked up. It will put more suction on the line and cause more air to be drawn in...

launboy's Spa build (updated W/ Pics!)

Woops, forgot to add this. Does anyone know where I can find information on the hot tub, or more importantly, the Pinnacle spa pack? Model: PE 40-A-L-G The only stuff I can find on it are for sites that sell them. If someone could find the Pinnacle Systems website, that would be great too...

launboy's Spa build (updated W/ Pics!)

Re: launboy's Spa build UPDATE! Build has taken a different turn. I was adding up the costs of the stuff I still had to buy to build the hot tub and it came out to almost $200.00. I told my dad this and he asked what about buying a spa instead of building it. I looked on Craigslist for...

    I hate my vac head

Our vac looks a lot like this one, except it's white. I get suction on our over the whole 12". I do have to go slow but it picks up everything from Algae to maple leaves. Adam

How to "rinse" your filter without a rinse cycle?

Actually, the Rinse setting and the Filter to Waste setting are different. Filter to Waste means(generally) that the water goes through the pump and straight out the backash port. The water never even enters the filter tank. On the other hand, on the Rinse setting the water flows through the...

    I hate my vac head

FWIW, I use a cheap HTH vac head from Wal-mart for our pool. It has bristle on the bottom, but they are attached in 8 pieces about 3" long. They just snap in and out so if I don't want to stir up the water with the bristles I just take the front 3 sets off. It creates decent suction with our 1...

Not another vehicle in the pool

OH, MY, GOSH, look at the pool. It's nasty... Look at all the algae on the wall behind the horse. They need to get over here to TFP get help and clean that thing up Pronto! At least they got the horse out and it's doing fine. Adam

FWIW, I can get on PF at school(was their today) and at the library, but still can't access from home. Unfortunately, this site is blocked on the school computers. I believe it was Catagorized as Parked by the filtering software(LightSpeed Systems). Adam

    water not flowing through pump

Are your valves open? Not to insult your intelegence but I've seen it happen before where somebody is doing maintenance or something and forgets to re-open a valve. Also, is your pump basket filled with water? This will help with diagnoses. HTH, Adam

    Electric Heater Question

Yeah, I saw that link a while back. There is also a link on his site to another, this one : http://www.coalmont.ca/data/Hottub_2006.html This guy used his heater to heat a hot tub. This is pretty much exactly what I want to do. Thing is, by the time I've bought all the copper, i'd have spent...
