    Filtering out concrete

I had my pump running from 10am to 6pm with my swgc running at 40%. Or at least that's what's on the schedule. Is that long enough? Before I had all these converters problems 30% for the same time seemed to hold it steady but that was a month ago before it got really hot.

    Concrete slippery solution

Will that cause it to not last as long? My contractor says he used the same acrylic anti slip sealer he always uses. He suggested to give it a few weeks. Thoughts?

    Filtering out concrete

Salt is back up around 3100. I added 120lbs this morning. I added a bunch of bleach last night but my chlorine was still close to zero today. Is there an issue with adding that with either salt or muriatic acid? ========================================== Morgan...

    Concrete slippery solution

I got my pool finished and was cleaning if over after it was stained and finished and noticed it was quick slick. I checked ours before the stain/seal and it didn't seem very slippery, so I didn't think to ask the contractor. I read there was something they could have put into it when they...

    Filtering out concrete

There was a lot of concrete dust that got stirred up by my sucking the rock out. My pool has been pretty clear for a while now. After sucking everything out, I filled the pool back up. It dropped about 1.5 ft of water. Last night I tested the water and nothing was too out. FC=0, pH=8...

    Filtering out concrete

https://www.homedepot.com/tool-truck-rental/mobile/Gas-Trash-Pump-2/0009098/index.html Worked like a charm. I just had to duct tape half of the house of to get more suction. Cleans the whole bottom in 2 hours.

Are there pumps designed to suck it out?

    Filtering out concrete

A side from draining it, how else could I get it out then? I don't think the leave filter will catch all the sand.

    Filtering out concrete

Will pumping that through my pool pump cause problems? Only small stuff would get through the skimmer. I don't know how the pumps are made.

    Filtering out concrete

I'm using a submersible pump that I bought from Lowe's but it's going pretty slow. Moved about 1 in per hour. Maybe they have bigger ones. Also I just looked at the sight hole at my deep end and it's dry. Also my ground is limestone so it shouldn't move. They had to hammer to get the hole...

    Filtering out concrete

What happens if I stuck it through my pump? If nothing is larger then the skimmer, would I be ok? It would acuminate on my canister filter, but I can clean that with a hose.

    Filtering out concrete

I have a 12 in pipe that goes down to the base rock. I was told to inspect that to make sure there was no water and if that was dry it was fine to drain. Is that not correct? Obviously I don't want to cause more problems now that I have my concrete in. I'm just getting frustrated that...

    Filtering out concrete

Fyi, I've started to drain the pool so if you think that's a bad idea, tell me quickly. Also assuming I do drain it all the way down, any thoughts on what to clean off dried concrete with? My spa was empty when they poured and some got on the bench.

    Filtering out concrete

Welp, I've had to pool companies come out with auxiliary pump and both claim they burned out their pumps and barely made and progress. I've decided to just drain the pool and clean it myself. There is way too much in there too try to clean it with a leaf filter and a lot of the same would just...

    Filtering out concrete

I ran some water tests yesterday and nothing was way out of wack. I added some salt and bleach to get where I need it to be. From there I will dial in pH and TA. I am hoping they finish up pouring and touching up the coping today, so I can start cleaning things up. Do I need to worry about...

    Filtering out concrete

Wife got a quote for $100 to do that. That is worth it to me. We are going to schedule it for next week since they are pouring the rest tomorrow. I am going to do some testing tonight to see where the water is at. I expect the calcium is going to be through the roof from the limestone that...

    Filtering out concrete

OK, so I got around to trying to get the pool cleaned up yesterday and there is definitely a lot of concrete (sand) and gravel (base) in the bottom of the pool. By a lot, I am not actually sure how much because I still can't see the bottom of the pool. I have a skimmer based vacuum that I...

Thanks for the input. That is what I was considering once they are done cleaning up things.

    Coping on fiberglass

It sounded like he was using plaster to smooth out the coping (roundness) and repair parts that came off when the forms were removed. But I am no concrete expert.

    Filtering out concrete

I'll test it tonight when I get home. I expect the chlorine is low because the pump got turned off.

    Filtering out concrete

I just got back from vacation to find out my coping was done last Friday. My pool was clear when I left and is now very cloudy. I am guessing it's due to all the concrete which feel into the pool. What's the best way to get it out? Will it cause an problems is I run my dolphin s200? Should...

    Coping on fiberglass

I've spent most of my time here over in the water chemistry area but I thought this question fit better here. I am having my coping done on my fiberglass pool. They are suppose to pull the forms of today. The concrete guy said they were coming back tomorrow to touch up with plaster. Is this...

    First test

Welp....pool company screwed me again. They came out Friday while I was out of town to install deck jets and drained the pool. They didn't refill it when the work was done, so the pump sat off all weekend. When I got back Tuesday, I couldn't get the pump to start again. So, now I am stuck...

    First test

The FC down to 5. I've turned the swg on for 8 hours at 15%. Tomorrow it should drop a little more. Then I can move it up to 20% and hopefully I'll be steady. I won't know until I get back Monday.

Hayward SWCG - How to tell it is Off

Moved from here. Anyone know how to tell if the Hayward T-9 is on or off? I can look at my automation, but it would be good if there was a way to confirm. I've noticed the pump not doing what it is suppose to sometimes.
