    New Katy Texas Build (Houston)

We were very fortunate, pool filled up and was starting to breed mosquito's but the draining helped that. Tile work has all been post Harvey so they are moving fast.

Texas vs. SWG - What is the deal

Why does this seems to be an isolated opinion for Texas? Wouldn't contractors etc not want to honor warranties due to "salt" in other states as they falsely believe in Texas?

Geometric gunite pool build in west Houston suburb

We almost picked that spa tile but changed our minds after seeing more samples. It is nice to see it in a big swatch. It does look good, hopefully the one we picked looks good also once installed. So far have only seen it in boxes for the 1"x1" We are doing dark walnut travertine for coping...

    Narrow Access for dig

I only had about 6' of clearance and they just used a bobcat on my excavation. No extra charges either.

Texas vs. SWG - What is the deal

We live in Houston and have numerous items on our back porch rusting already and our pool isn't even fully installed yet. We are going with salt, and I fully expect things in my backyard to rust about the same they did before I had a pool. I think as long as people have the proper...

Hole too big for yard? Very worried

Hmm, I guess my PB either has good subs that are okay with salt or he is willing to go on his own and pay for any warranty issue. Hopefully I never have any issues and its a moot point.

Hole too big for yard? Very worried

My builder in Houston was adamant that we do Salt. I guess he is the only one. Is a chlorine pool more profitable to install for them? Why do they push chlorine so much? Old habits die hard?

We are using the 1"x1" tiles for our infinity spa.

    New Katy Texas Build (Houston)

PB has move the pipe touching the A/C unit about 6 inches away now. I believe that should suffice if maintenance is needed. Also, have some update photos of tile and coping being installed yesterday. [ATTACH=CONFIG]68870 [ATTACH=CONFIG]68871

    It's going down for real....

We were debating Northshore Tahoe, but then my wife did some work for the builder and he upgraded us for free to Antigua which was a Tier 3 plaster. Our coping looks very similar, is that Dark Walnut travertine? Ours is being installed today actually along with the tile.

theory vs practice - filling a pool

We are having the autofill equipment installed in our pool. Would we be able to use that for initial fill-up also?

Pool build - Southwest FL - Tampa

It is amazing how the sales guys just don't call back. Weird way of staying in business. We started our pool process in 2013 but never pulled the trigger. One pull company called us about our inquiry to them a full year after we emailed them. A FULL YEAR before first contact to us...

    Poor acid wash?

Can't really comment about the acid wash, but I love your pool/spa design. Good luck on getting your plaster corrected. Which type (Pebbletech or WetEdge) and color do you have?

Magnolia Texas (Houston) Pool Build Thread!!

Thats a nice custom detail you got for free :)... In all seriousness though I hope it would come out, but if it doesn't I pretty sure you have a clear case to have it repaired with the PB.

    New Katy Texas Build (Houston)

I'm a little concerned about the equipment installed that is touching my A/C unit. Any suggestions from the group? Does the rest of the equipment look okay or do you see any issues? I can provide any additional photos if needed.

PB in Austin that will do SWG?

I guess I am lucky, as my PB in Houston was adamant that we only do SWG and to avoid chlorine. Based on many of the comments I've read on here for Texas and Houston for that matter it appears my PB is the exception to the rule. We are also doing travertine instead of flagstone to help reduce...

New Build, Cypress, TX - looking for feedback

I'd double check your warranty to ensure it covers outside use. I've read a few articles about people buying refrigerators for their garages and the fact they are kept in a hot area voided the warranties. I assume you have this covered but wanted to mention just in case.

    How much was your pool?

Right now I am looking at $90k estimated. That is inclusive of landscaping and yard / sprinkler repairs. True pool cost is only $77k.
