    Backfill Question

Yeah my pool company wanted to backfill with all the sand and such. We are near the shore (10 miles inland and high and dry) and have no problems with water at all. So that huge rain we got yesterday is already dried out of the bottom of the pool dig area. I was thinking somehow to have the...

    Backfill Question

Yes we were told 3/4 trap rock (if thats the same thing). Actually I researched many companies and the company I am going with stresses their base more than every other person I had come out. I don't know if anyone out there would warranty their work for 30 years but the company did say they do...

    Backfill Question

Everyone here has been so great throughout our process with building a new pool. We are nearing the end and they are about to backfill our pool. This is something I should get researched prior but from reading many posts on this forum it seems #57 gravel is the way to go. I saw this was...

    Liner Question

Thanks for the advice! I should get them out before we backfill I assume to correct this.

    Liner Question

Thanks for sharing! It seems if I have a small curvature it will smooth out. I’ll wait a few days and check. They are going to backfill next week.

    Liner Question

I feel that someone could step on that part of the liner and tear it. Probably something I should bring up? They had a couple bags of salt near steps and two on the cove. I only had the pool filled up maybe 20% so they mentioned to keep the liner down until we filled it up.

    Liner Question

Hi all - question about liners. So currently I’m having a brand new inground pool put in my yard and all the inspections just finished today and they told me to fill the pool with water which just finished. It’s just about half way to the skimmer. I went down in the hole and I noticed the...

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Sounds good. Will do. Any brand sealer you recommend?

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Sounds good. I will definitely ask for that. My wife really likes the Cambridge and I do as well so I will opt for those. In terms of color and style we like the Onyx natural 3pc from the ledgestone series. Thanks for the input.

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Thanks! They did hold up well and still look very nice. I've just read places and not sure how true but with Cambridge that "Armortec" wears off or something.

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

I guess that "Enduracolor" is similar to the Armortec from Cambridge? If it wouldn't be too much trouble do you have a picture of your 10 year old patio? Just curious on how it would look down the road. Our installer has in writing he will warranty any settling for 5 years that's how confident...

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Thanks for the reply! My installer is really pushing Unilock because of how durable and strong they are but also likes Cambridge. My wife likes the Cambridge color scheme better. Our installer by us seems to be one of the best around and heavily promotes a strong base. I always hear mixed...

That was me everyday! At the end of the day I think pavers are the best option overall.

I am in a similar situation. My backyard will easily get that much sun as yours. Tough to decide! :)

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

This looks great! My paver installer is highly recommending Unilock and this would be the color scheme we are looking for except the darker border around the pool. I think yours looks amazing!

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Thanks everyone for the input. My installer really like unilock and around me this particular installer seems to be one of the best around. I really also like Cambridge but keep hearing some not so good reviews after a few years. My wife likes the color of the onyx natural with the darker...

Paver Brands - New Install in NJ

Hi everyone! Loving this site and wealth of knowledge. I live in NJ near the jersey shore with very sandy soil. Our pool is just about completed and we have been thinking of stamped concrete vs pavers for months now and I think we have decided to go with pavers. My question to everyone is if...

    New Construction - Placement issues!

I agree. We were thinking to re-do the patio and do stamped concrete from outside our door to the pool. The only thing deterring me is the paver patio on the right hand side. I guess they could get it close but it wouldn't match 100%. In the grand scheme of things I guess that is preference...

    New Construction - Placement issues!

That's nice! The utilities are actually right by the house too so it would make more sense to put it closer to the house. More further away is more electrical and gas to run. This was my vote early in discussing and might become again seeing all these pictures.

    New Construction - Placement issues!

That's a nice layout for sure. Since I have that slope the pool would have to come off the back and side fence and would be right there when you walk in. Something we discussed as well. So tough deciding haha

    New Construction - Placement issues!

I was actually thinking the same and have it all flow together but the company recommended in the back. Their reasoning was you would have to walk around the pool to get to the back space of the yard. So we thought we would change the back patio (concrete slab that is aged) into a deck over it...

    New Construction - Placement issues!

Hi everyone. I am new to the board and glad I found it. Lots of good info. We just signed a contract for a new pool -- style here: -- We have an oddly shaped lot and got a paver patio last year on the right side of our property and in hindsight we should have waited. Anyone have any...
