    DE Replacement After Backflush

How much replacement DE should I be adding back into the system after I backflush? I've asked the same question of 5 different folks at the pool company that installed my pool and git 5 different answers. They told by neighbor (same pool installer) another answer altogether. Is there a good...

Jandy No Flow Light ... STILL

Haven't run on recirculate for long but it has worked for the short period we ran it for. How can I calculate GPM? On 3 the RPM is 2765 and on 4 RPM is 3110 RPM.

Jandy No Flow Light ... STILL

SWG No Flow Light On STILL Merged by moderator. Please keep your related posts together. Thanks, jblizzle We'll we're still having problems with our SWG. The no flow light keeps coming on our Jandy SWG and no one can seem to fix it. It's brand new as of this spring so it should still be...

    White Mold

Makes sense to me. It now seems to be mustard algae instead of white mold. Our neighbors apparently get the same thing. Any recommendations for fighting this? I've also come to the conclusion that my SWG is not nor never has really worked correctly despite the claims of my...

    White Mold

Mustard Algae We're still working on getting our pool numbers in line. As of last night our CYA was only at 30 and our chlorine was at 1-2. My wife has been noticing a "slime" on the sides and a white powder developing at the bottom. Similar to the way sand would accumulate in patches on the...

    First Time Test

Just received and used my TF-100 test kit last night. CYA was low at 30 and cholorine was low at 1-2. I'm a little confused about free chlorine though. How to I figure out what that is again?

Jandy No Flow Light ... STILL

Re: Jandy No Flow Light I'm going to run the tests tonight so I'll post the results then. The pool installer never showed me how to open the cell so I'm a little nervous to start pulling on it. It was just installed 2 months ago. Based on your comment and me being a complete novice, where...

Jandy No Flow Light ... STILL

Re: Jandy No Flow Light The pressure gauge doesn't seem to change much during this process. It might drop a couple PSI but not much. I haven't really paid any attention to the pressure from the returns so I can't really comment on a change there.

Jandy No Flow Light ... STILL

We have a Jandy SWG that's brand new this spring as is the entire pool. The last 3 - 4 weeks we've been struggling with the No Flow light coming on all the time. I'm talking once every other day or so. The only fix is to backflush then it starts working again. The pool company came out and...

    White Mold

So I'm being told I have something called white mold in my pool. It looks like very fine white/light gray sand gathering in different spots on the bottom of the pool. It's so fine that it essentially dissipates when you touch it. It ranges from the shallow end to the deep end. We had it...

    Pump Speed Question

Funny you should ask. I ordered the tf-100 so it should be here tomorrow. Based on our recent experience I have zero faith in anything the pool company does.

    Pump Speed Question

Thank you. This is very helpful. I think clean PSI is around 14 so I'll watch for a 25% increase. We're taking a sample in tomorrow to validate the chlorine level.

    Pump Speed Question

Here's the first of what will probably be many, many questions to this board. Our pool is new this year (started installing late fall) and frankly has been a complete nightmare. Most of it goes back to the installer but regardless we are where we are. Unfortunately I can't seem to get an...
