Newbie Fighting a Small Amount of Algae

I have a test kit from last year. I never got the hang of reading it and honestly I just didn't use it much. I relied on the info from my SWG box, which I know from reading here that is not recommended at all. I can go take a picture now.

    Ladders and Handrails question

I don't remember where, but I read it is good practice to lubricate your handrail and ladder posts in the cement before reinstalling them. Does anyone do this, and if so what do you use? Thanks!

Newbie Fighting a Small Amount of Algae

I took my cover off a little over a week ago. I have, what looks like compared to some pics I've seen on here, a small amount of algae, but I don't know. It is green, brushes easily from the floor, but harder to brush from the walls (which might just be me). I've vacuumed already and added a...

    Testing Question

The white plate behind the tubes makes sense, thanks for that tip! I don't mind buying the kit or doing the testing, but having problems distinguishing colors is my biggest issue. Are the color results easier to distinguish on a more expensive test kit? Sent using Tapatalk

    Testing Question

I have a hard time distinguishing colors when using a test kit. Last year was my first year of having a pool; I had a cheap test kit and used the strips that came with the build, but really didn't have a good grasp on what was correct after doing the testing. I mainly relied on the SWG...

    Nervous 1st Time Closer

Thanks everyone, again being the first time doing this I'm just overly cautious...and it is made worse by all the weather reports on how it is going to be a long and cold winter. :-) I took care of everything today (hopefully everything)!! I will be on the lookout for a good Black Friday...

    Nervous 1st Time Closer

Thank you for the response!! What do you do for your main drain if your 6 HP shop vac isn't powerful enough? The main drain line goes to the pump, and the skimmer line goes to the pump, but come together before going into the pump, and there is only one cut off valve for both lines. Does...

    Nervous 1st Time Closer

This was my first season owning a pool, and everything has gone great. Now I'm getting nervous! I plan to lower the water level to below the returns (overkill from what I've read but I'd rather be safe than sorry) and blow out the lines using an air compressor. I have ordered return covers...

    Tiger Shark with "sticky" brushes?

Thanks for the help! Casey, I will try to take them off and see what happens and if that doesn't work laprjns, I will replace them. I will update in a few days.

    Tiger Shark with "sticky" brushes?

This is my first post so if I've left anything out I'll be glad to clarify! I was given an older model Tiger Shark robotic pool cleaner. It hasn't been used in several years so I don't want to sink a whole lot of money into it until I'm sure it works properly. I downloaded the manual from...
