Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

Great ideas, thanks! I like the switch idea, so I'll try that first. I went ahead and purchased a new breaker from the supply house this afternoon since they're not open on the weekends. I'll keep that tucked away until I try everything else, though, so I can potentially return it.

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

That's what it seems like. I can try moving it to a different spot in the panel (right now the problem/tripping breaker is on the top left in the photo and the transformer/lights are on the bottom right breaker). I don't think the wires to the two breakers have much, if any contact or proximity...

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

I went out and checked the panel. The neutral bus bar is separated and not touching the enclosure in any way (the green screw has been removed). It turns out this separation is visible in the pic in the 1st post as well. The ground bus bar has the following attached: ground from the main panel...

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

The 60A breaker feeding the sub panel is not GFCI, it's just a regular 2-pole 60A breaker.

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

Thanks! I just swapped in a non-GFCI breaker on the pump circuit (to test), and then back again, so I know all the connections are tight there. I'll check/tighten everything else. Yes, the ground and neutral bars are separate. I'll check that the neutral bar is separated from the enclosure.

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

Thanks! I'll definitely try a different breaker. 2-pole 20A GFCIs are expensive!

Pool lights tripping a DIFFERENT breaker in the panel. HELP!

Hi All- Hoping you all can help me work through an electrical problem I'm having. The problem is my low-voltage niche pool lights are tripping the GFCI breaker that my timer/SWG/heater/pump are connected to. This only happens when turning the lights OFF, and only after turning them on and then...

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Thought last night as the night, but not so much. :( FC last night: 15 FC this morning: 13.5 Getting close. Hopefully tonight. In other news I turned on the SWG this morning. The instant salt reading immediately went to 0 and said "check salt" and "check cell". My test strips say I'm 3700 to...

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Almost passed OLCT last night. FC after sun down (about 8:30p): 11.6 FC just before sun hits the pool (about 7:15a): 10.4 I added a little less than 1/2 a gallon of 8.3% bleach this morning, just to be on the safe side. I also added another 80 lbs of salt since my strips were reading only...

FC is constant overnight but still visible algae???

I'm a new pool owner myself, but what about vacuuming it out (and straight to waste, if possible)?

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

The water was even more clear this morning. I think I'm almost there. FC: 9.4 CC: 0.4 Thinking might be ready for the weekend... maybe?

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

I think I did pretty well today. Added about 6 gallons of bleach, 4.5 lbs of CYA and 400 lbs of salt. I wasn't able to find MA at the local HD, and I didn't have time to get to the pool supply store, so the pH remains unchanged. Full results as of about 8:15 tonight (last bleach addition was at...

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Gotcha. Used one of the wife's nylons. It didn't take long for the 4.5 lbs to dissolve.

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Got it, thanks! As far as the CYA goes. I see some folks use a sock, some don't. Does it matter? I'd much prefer to just dump it in the skimmer if the end result is the same.

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the speedy advice! Based on other threads I'm assuming I should run the pump on the high speed 24/7 until the SLAMing is complete?

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

Hi All! Long time lurker, first time poster! Last week (Friday the 10th) we had a nice little fiberglass pool installed. Less than 24 hours after the pool was installed we left to go on vacation for a week. Unfortunately the electrician wasn't able to get the pump working until Thursday, so...
