New "big as it can be" pool.

We knew we were likely to cut the water line to the house, but what we didn't know was the house was plumbed with PEX and the connectors they use on PEX don't hold up real well to being tugged on by a backhoe. So when we'd fixed the PVC water line all we'd done was move the water leak from at...

Dig pictures! The one of the fiber cut (black wire) is only significant because I host websites using that fiber and it getting cut was not part of the plan  thankfully my ISP was quick to get it spliced back together closer to the fence where it was supposed to be to begin with

New "big as it can be" pool.

So like I said before, if you give a mouse a cookie he'll want a glass of milk. Well while we're still in the planning stages, but well past committed, we realize we've never liked the sloped side yard and we're about to have a whole bunch of dirt. Hmm... well we could build a retaining wall and...

New "big as it can be" pool.

OK, we started this project back in March and I've learned a TON from reading this site since before then and I finally got some of the pictures together so I could post them for y'all. A little background, we had a 12x24 Intex oval with the inflatable ring for about 5 years that finally...

    Using marble under water

Yep. Its one very cool machine. We just got it a few weeks ago and the guys who actually run it (I'm an electrical guy, not a mechanical guy) have had a blast cutting all sorts of materials already (wood, plastic, glass, etc). Beats the pants off a laser for versatility.

    Using marble under water

Here it is cut out of porcelain. The plaster will be Hawaiian blue so the white should stand out nicely.

    Using marble under water

Thanks Richard. That's what I was afraid of once I engaged my brain this morning. Unless someone has a good experience story about submerged marble I think we'll go with porcelain.

Treating water in a metal tank

The company I work for recently purchased a water jet cutter (http://www.flowwaterjet.com/en/waterjet ... stems.aspx). I realize its not a pool, but it is a 3,000 gallon tank of water that needs to be kept somewhat clean if for no other reason than to keep the shop from stinking. Problem is no...

    Using marble under water

I need to get some pictures up here, but we are mid pool build and had the brilliant idea of cutting out a cotton boll and placing it at the bottom of the pool between the main drains. (we're in the middle of the largest cotton patch in the world). Initially we thought of cutting it out of...

The Zodiac "Barracuda" MX8 Suction Side Cleaner

That's a question that can't be answered because the pressures associated with your pool will be unique. Pipe length, number of returns, size of pipe, number of elbows, etc will all effect the flow rate and pressure for a given pump speed.
