Another The Woodlands, TX Build - Finishing touches

I forgot to get around to posting updates after completion of the landscaping and decking along with a few other touches. Of course the freeze we had in Houston took a toll on the landscaping and we had to replace some things but everything is greening up and warming up so just about pool season!

Another The Woodlands, TX Build - Finishing touches

Thanks for bumping up this thread. I’ve been meaning to provide some updates. yes, we’d definitely do the JetArrays again as it’s one of our favorite features and gets a lot of use while we are enjoying the spa. I would just make sure your builder is aware of the space they need during install...

First time build in Georgetown, Tx. Any advice much appreciated!

We were originally planning a very similar design. All rock was going to be too much so we were planning 3 rock formations with the raised spa and a raised wall between them. But after seeing more pools with rock waterfalls and compared with our background and surroundings, we felt it would...

    Spa Draining down

That single spa return on the “pool” side of the return actuator/valve is the problem. When is spa mode, or when the pump is off, there is no pressure pushing water out of the spa make up return. Gravity will force the water to back flow through that return and back into the pool. The solution...

    Spa Draining down

Looks like Jim beat me to it. I’m not sure why you would automate that valve. Remove the actuator and add a check valve, then manually adjust the valve based on how much flow you want in that return when in Pool mode... none, to a lot. It depends how you configure your spa mode to run so the...

    Spa Draining down

Based on all of the info as I see it. The problem is the spa make up. The return between the pool and the bubblers. There is no check valve on that pipe. When the pump turns off the water flows from that return in the spa back to the equipment pad and through the pool return back to the pool...

DFW Pool Build - Flower Mound

We added a 240V run to our pergola and added a 6000W infrared heater. We just had the roof installed on the pergola this weekend so we haven’t been able to use it with the roof trapping the warmth in. It still worked fairly well with no roof, especially warming towels that were on the table...

O/B in Gilbert, AZ for 2nd time

We really like our JetArrays that we had installed. Our pool was just completed a few weeks ago and we can’t run the heater yet but we did brave the cold one day and get in. They have 4 vertical, smaller jets. We have 6 total in our spa on a dedicated pump and 6 standard returns (no connected to...

Another The Woodlands, TX Build - Finishing touches

Landscaping starting tomorrow and hoping to be done by Thursday. Laid out my rough plan this weekend and existed to get to a more finished project. I also bought a lot of supplies to work on some of the electrical projects like... finish outdoor speaker wiring with 2 additional speakers on...

    Our First Pool

As I’ll be tackling my own wiring project over the next few weeks, let me see if I can decipher your load center... FLTR relay tied the the top double pole breaker with pump on line and SCG transformer on load Aux 1, 2, 3, 4 on the top single pole breaker with load running to 4 transformers...

    Our First Pool

Now that is how things should be wired. I’m loving the configuration of your transformers and the high and low voltage paths with the T junctions on each. I may have to steal that when I redo the poor job our PB’s electrician sub did. I haven’t even taken a picture of the rats nest they left in...

Another The Woodlands, TX Build - Finishing touches

With the rain last weekend, I didn’t get around to decorating the exterior of the house with our Christmas lights until this weekend. Of course the pool needed to join in the festivities... It seems the green light is difficult to capture with my phone.
