I found this video and fixed the Hayward in 5 minutes. Super easy to do!

The last photo is the old pump. The second pump is for a water feature.

I'm pretty sure the Hayward aquanaut is the problem because it's not working at any RPM setting, but the timing is coincidental because I just replaced the pump motor. Here's some pics:
