My understanding too is that the viscosity of the R-0011L will create a difference in drop sizes.
The tips on our bottles are supposed to be all the same size. If you’d like to email a picture of all your bottles (without caps so I can see the tips) to [email protected] I can diagnose more...
Taylor only provides "Best By" dates rather than expiration dates, so instead of reprinting those on our bottles we prefer to abide by Taylor's recommendation to replace reagents yearly. If you have any issues with a reagent within a year of purchase, we will troubleshoot with you or replace the...
CYA does degrade over time albeit slowly. Pucks are still a decent option for going away if your CYA levels are managed well. Otherwise I think many on this forum would encourage you to go SWG or look into a chlorine dosing system. Since I don’t know much about chlorine dosing systems, I’ll let...
Hello,
The salt reagents are purchased separately but still discounted. They can be found on the website under Reagents > Salt. Email me [email protected] if you need more assistance.
Thanks,

There’s something sublime about perfect microfoam milk over espresso. I don’t like my coffee very sweet but the steamed milk is just sweet enough for my taste. We also have one of those battery operated wands that we use for “cold foam” over iced coffee a la Starbucks. Basically… I’m a four cups...
I bought a Breville Bambino Plus about a month ago and have been slowly getting better at pulling a decent shot and foaming the milk properly. I have a newfound respect for baristas everywhere because it’s a lot tougher than it looks!!!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the TFP first step would be to drain. Then liquid chlorine to maintain FC. Then you can adjust with acid - I think muriatic acid is more cost effective over dry acid.
You could wait for your CYA to reduce naturally over time, but that will be exceedingly slow (3-5ppm a month) and it will be expensive and difficult to maintain the water’s good condition as you will need to maintain a really high FC level. The TFP recommendation is to drain half your water.
The chlorine side of the block is a qualitative test for the presence of chlorine. Once you are more comfortable with the tests and how your pool's levels behave over time, you can use R-0600 and the chlorine side of the block as a quick check to make sure you have chlorine in your water. This...
The R-0014 unfortunately does not work with the comparator for the K-2006. However TFtestkits does sell R-0004, which is the reagent needed for the K-2006 comparator. TFtestkits also sells a K-2006 refill set for users with that kit.
It’s almost certainly your older tablet and OS. The prompt is not supposed to behave in the way you’re describing. In current iOS and Android devices the prompt asks the user whether they would like push notifications or not. If users clear their cookies it will prompt them again.
As for your...
You can get 10 years worth of R-0014 phenol red reagent for the cost of a decent pH meter. I'm not attacking meters or anyone who uses them but I think that promoting their use might give new users the wrong impression about how quick and easy the pH test is. Once you accept that your results...
I am involved in it, yes. I am relatively new to the company and Canadian shipping is certainly on the list of issues to address this offseason. I am not exactly sure if the reasoning behind the restrictions is still accurate or not.
You can use PayPal and use the Shippsy address for your billing on the TFtestkits checkout.
I’ll look into making this easier going forward.
Nate @ TFT
A far more common occurrence is that new users add their own new issue into an ancient thread with someone else's issue. I agree it's relatively harmless but that is why the guideline is in place.
It is also worth noting that TFP has an app! You plug in your test results to our PoolMath calculator and it calculates the necessary chemical additions with a few taps. However if automated testing is your main focus then unfortunately there are no TFP recommendations in that area.
We have many Canadian customers use services like Shippsy with great results. Is that something you’re interested in? Otherwise we will follow up via PM.
Nate @ TFT
No idea. I’m glad that the results you’re getting agree with what you expect but this is the first I’ve heard of an issue like this. Do you have any of the old powder to compare to? Can you post a picture of the murky sample?
Nate
The material or rigidity of the bottle does not affect the drop size. The size and construction of the dropper tip affects the drop size. That said, some incorrect tips have worked their way into our inventory as of late and thus this is likely attributable to that. I've responded via email to...
That's correct. The Taylor K-2006 and other 2000 series kits use R-0004, 5, and 6 for pH testing, while all TF kits use R-0014.
As far as expirations go - the dates printed on Taylor bottles are Best By dates, not expiration dates. Everything sold at TFtestkits is warrantied for 1 year from...
