2 years since filter cleaning and SWCG inspection. How does it look?

It has been two years since I cleaned my filter cartridges and SWCG. My pressure just hit the 25% mark. My SWCG has been producing chlorine with no problem. I keep my water balanced year round and never close the pool. I figure since I was so AR about keeping the water balanced using your...

Why would my "running pressure" jump up 5 PSI ?

The question is why are you using the Nature 2 Express? Do you know that is adds copper and silver to your water? This can cause many undesirable issues with your water as the amount of minerals increase year after year. Search this forum for Nature 2 and see what I mean.

Do you not backwash cartridge filter? (changing filters during remodel)

If you get an oversized filter you will not have to clean it often if you don't get algae and keep your water clean. I have not cleaned mine in two years and I just hit the 25% mark which means it needs cleaning. It is not recommended to go this long in cleaning even if you don't hit the 25%...

? about floating solar powered salt water chlorine generator

About ten minutes ago I was looking at Home Depot to find a tree to replace one downed in a storm Saturday and came across a solar powered floating pool filter. It claims a life of thirty years and states you can just turn off your existing pool equipment and help save the planet. And it can be...

How do i know if my pool is vinyl?

Post a picture and we can tell you. Vinyl is soft and has a little "give" to it due to the vermiculite beneath it. Gunite will feel like a solid concrete surface with no "give" to it. Fiberglass will be smooth if fairly new and have no "give".

    Keeping SWG Plates Clean

I think most are self cleaning but you will see plenty that have massive amounts of calcium buildup despite the self cleaning function. The following link is to an article on TD Chlorinators web site that has an image of a cell with a lot of calcium buildup. Funny thing about this Australian...

    Keeping SWG Plates Clean

Second what JasonLion stated. I keep my water balanced year round. My cell is three years old and has not been cleaned in 2 years. When I last removed it and inspected it, it looked new with no scaling. I will be inspecting it again when the rain stops for a while. It produces chlorine with no...

    JohnyGluebag's Pool Gong-Show

Johnygluebag, Did you read the instructions for your SWCG? Many, if not all, require you to turn off the chlorine generator and run the pump for 24 hours after adding salt or it could damage your cell. I hope this did not happen to you.

New Guy From New Orleans Area!

Hope you get to feeling better soon! Get that CYA up asap. It could take a week to show up on your test so do not test it immediately. Add about 50-60% of what is called for and test in about 5-7 days. Then run the numbers again on the pool calc and add the final amount and test again after a week.

It's an idea but you could try and find a piece of PVC pipe the same size inside diameter and cut it the same width as the clip. Then cut a section out of it horizontally so you can snap it on the coping. It might be a little thicker than the aluminum but it would do the job. Welcome to the...
