Thanks JimR I ordered the TF-Pro salt yesterday. Got the Pool Math program downloaded on my computer and played around with it a little. Reading all the threads of people who have problems with their water chemistry, I'm a little goosey about testing and keeping the water just right, so it...

The journey begins, pool dig starting after Labor day, posting photos of the process.

Since we might be swimming in 4 weeks, I was surfing for a test kit. Looking at TF-100 salt kit or TF-pro salt kit with mag stir. I see the mag stir is on back order. Is a mag stir really a big deal to have? Also thinking of getting a PH meter, again is that useful or just use the test kit...

Interviewing a combo landscape arch and pool contractor. What basic questions to ask for first interview

This is the backyard during construction for a screen porch and deck. What you see is just about how wide the backyard is along with the finished porch. The yard just rolls a lot in elevation with the low spot basically at the screen porch

Interviewing a combo landscape arch and pool contractor. What basic questions to ask for first interview

Well, I guess the pool will not be happening anytime soon. Our meeting with the PC and the landscape architect did not go well. For one, the PC failed to show up, did not answer phone or text messages (5 days later still ghosting us). The LA spent an hour with us and determined our backyard...

Interviewing a combo landscape arch and pool contractor. What basic questions to ask for first interview

The pool contractor is bringing his outside landscape arch to the table. Then I understand the LA will be the one getting the subs to do the yard work, drainage, any retaining walls etc. We met both of them at a model show home last summer where they had put in a pool and got a good feeling...

Interviewing a combo landscape arch and pool contractor. What basic questions to ask for first interview

thanks, lot of good info on the contract side. The last guy we talked to almost 3yr ago wanted 50% deposit ($30K) and he was not going to start for almost 18 mo. Needless to say, we did not hire him. Thats a long time to hold a deposit & hope he would still be in business.

Interviewing a combo landscape arch and pool contractor. What basic questions to ask for first interview

so we tried this all the way back in 2018 and decided to hold off, then pandemic. We had a contractor talk to us back then and I shared with you guys the equipment list. Just now thinking of trying again to get a pool built. Just to brush me up on the right questions to ask for a first...

Almost ready to sign a contract, this is the list, any comments?

All good responses, thanks everyone. We will consider a SWG a lot more going forward. One bit of info on the reason for cartridge vs a sand filter, at least as was told to me. My location does not have a good method for piping backwash from a sand filter other than just dumping it out in...

Ready to sign a contract with a pool builder. Other than he is back logged and cannot start construction till October 2021 which seems like an eternity in these trying times. Here is the laundry list and a few questions of mine. Anyone care to comment pro or con on the proposed list...
