Best Liquid Chlorine to buy from Home Depot? How much needed to slam 19,800 gallon above ground vinyl pool?

Which Leslie's test kit? Does it include the FAS-DPD chlorine test? You may have the equivalent of the K-2005 and just need to add the FAS-DPD chlorine test to have the equivalent of the K-2006. You can use to calculate how much bleach is required to reach your desired target.

Total Alkalinity came down from 300+ to 0!

You need reliable test results to know what needs to be adjusted. Also, lower pH does not make the chlorine more effective in a significant sense when CYA is present in the water. Just one more piece of half-truth that the pool industry feeds everyone.

I think the store swindled you. Sand always works and we often see reports that alternative media has problems. Hopefully they did not sell it to you under the guise that it would clear up your green pool. It won't. You need chlorine to kill it first by following the

We do not recommend the use of algaecides (except for very specific ones in very specific circumstances) or clarifiers. Why do you think you need them? The tenet of TFP is to only add what your pool needs based on accurate test results.

Total Alkalinity came down from 300+ to 0!

There is a reason we do not trust digital tests ;) Chemistry will not allow a 0 TA and a pH of 7.3. If TA was really 0, then the pH is in the 4s.

Filter Upgrade or new Pool cleaner

No way for me to know what you are seeing in the water. You could be just brushing up dust from the environment. If you are passing all 3 criteria, then the SLAM process should be done.

    Pool math recommended FC levels

And this kind of action, which is "normal" to the pool industry, would arguably put your pool and equipment at MORE risk than just always maintaining the proper FC for your CYA like we teach.

The strength is listed on the bottle. It is usually 10%. Use PoolMath to determine how much you will need to add to reach your FC Target that is a function of your CYA level according to the

I would also note that trying to keep the pH down around 7.3 is a little unrealistic. The pH is generally much more stable up around 7.8. Doing that will greatly reduce the acid consumption, assuming that the CSI is still reasonable. Given your numbers I think it might have been quite negative...

    Liquid Chlorine/ But green tint

The cloudiness is the slowest part of the process, especially with a sand filter. You should ideally test and adjust your FC again at least once more tonight so that you are sure you are maintaining your SLAM FC level.

    fell dump on slam process

So there is no way that we can help you when contact is every 6 days. Forget the TA and CH. You need to add 30ppm of CYA And then add liquid chlorine to follow the . At the start you need to be testing every few hours if possible and adding more chlorine up to the SLAM level target.

You shouldn't. The app recommended FC levels are set based on your CYA level according to the . If you try to keep the FC too low for your CYA, then you are bound for algae and an unsanitary pool ... forget about recommendations from other sources that are not taking the CYA level into account.

    Trouble clearing up cloudy water.

Nothing you have added should have lowered the pH like that. I would retest. Also don't raise the TA higher than 70ppm, I would be inclined to leave it for now and focus on clearing up the water.

    Liquid Chlorine/ But green tint

You need to completely stop using tablets. Use 10ml of water for your chlorine test so each drop is 0.5 ppm I am not sure what test you are doing to get FC and TC of 5 and 4, trust the FAS-DPD test with the powder. You can't test pH when FC>10ppm.

If you run out of luck, there are aftermarket weir doors that have spring loaded feet to hold them in place. Not as good as the original, but better than nothing. Also note that some use a floating skimmer basket that acts as the weir in leu of the door.

Too little powder can be problematic on seeing the end point. At higher FC levels, make sure you use enough powder, you can't really go too much (within reason). Are you holding the bottles vertical when you are adding drops? Are you adding drops at a rate of about 1 per second?

Math looks reasonable. You will need to monitor your rising Calcium levels to avoid scaling. Vacation Trichlor - how do I do this?

First, if you have a Stenner dialed in, why would you need to supplement with tablets? 1) If you want to add a few, I would and just leave the Stenner dialed in how it is. The tablets are effectively a "back-up" 2) They won't, they do not dissolve very fast in the floaters
