If you don't want to go without chlorine you can run the pump until you get a change to check the check valve.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to Good plan. In my opinion it is always better to have too little CYA than too much. I would rather add chlorine than drain and refill. So I like to sneak up on the level I want.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to Let it drop to 5 and see if it clouds. Now that you know what it can look like you can experiment with levels within the calculator range. If at 5 it clouds the take it back to 8 until it clears then try 6 and so on.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to The PC suggested adding 28 oz of CYA to reach a target. Since you added the 28 oz when you use the PC you can change the actual to the number that was the target. In other words you do not need to wait until the CYA shows up in your...

    Refilling Liquidator

Thanks Dave. I thought the valve was a good idea too, but I do not have an extra one. I do have the bungee cord. Did you let the water rise above the in float when you were pouring the bleach in?

    Refilling Liquidator

Yes the manual states refilling when it gets to two inches, so I will start with a little more than 2". So when the pump is off it will drain?

    Refilling Liquidator

OK, I am finally installing my Liquidator and have an operating question. When I get hooked up I want to give it a test run by putting in a gallon of bleach and running it for 24 hours. I assume it will fill up with water. When i get ready to fill it with bleach as I pour the bleach in how do...

    The Pool Blaster Catfish review??

I use the pool blaster max for small stuff such as oak pollen and like it. It does not do well with leaves.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to I just clicked on the link by Linen and my Lowe's has it in stock. It is only $.73, so Niki if you have a Lowe's nearby they may have it and you can get going tomorrow. I have never seen it at Home Depot either.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to It is amazing that probably 90% or more of pool stores are run by people who do not know their business (at least based on the postings on this board).

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to NikiBelle, Do you realize how far you have come? A month ago a pump failure would have been very depressing as you would have assumed your pool was doomed. Now, as the saying goes "it's not a hill for a stepper." You just pick up...

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to Another way to isolate the pump is to close the filter to seal off the return side. For the skimmer side you can use the vacuum hose out of the pool to stop up the skimmer and then when you take the hose off the pump you can raise the...

Is 1 Backwash Sometimes Not Enough?

I use time. 1 min backwash, turn pump off for 1 min, repeat 2 more times, rinse for 30 seconds, pump off for 30 seconds, then back to filter.

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to Your going to be fine. The down time can be a good thing in that any remaining flock can settle to the bottom and you can vacuum it when you get your new pump going. In the meantime, consider removing the old pump and taking the...

HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to turn

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to During the shocking process I run 24 hrs, but under normal conditions I run mine much less. You want the water to turn over at least one time a day. So how long that takes depends on the flow in your system. There are two ways to...

    Best check valve for Liquidator

I was going to ask about the 3/8." I think I will go with 3/8" as much as possible. Since the Flow gauge requires 1/4" I will have to use 3/8" barbed because I can't find a 3/8" speed fit x 1/4" NPT. I only found a 3/8" SMC needle valve with barbs at US Plastics, so I will use that as well...

    Best check valve for Liquidator

So, I have a used Liquidator and I need to replace the check valves. I have seen the original grey ones, the little white John Guest ones, some black ones that Rabbit used, and there may be others. Has any one of these turned out to be more reliable? Is there another better choice?
