    Aeration

Welcome to the club! [edit] good on you for getting the TF-100 kit... you're on the path to easy, clear water! While you're familiarizing yourself with the website, it's also good to fill in your pool details in the profile (liner type, volume, chlorine used, pump, heater) because sometimes...

New to SWG - need advice

Great to hear your numbers are looking good! For the longevity of your salt cell it's wise to bring that number up, otherwise it'll have to run overtime to replace the increased FC lost to sunlight at 30ppm.

o_O:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO: And don't take pool chemical advice from youtube "experts" with murky, green water. Even if they ARE a doctor.

Now go sell this obsolete, stinky bucket on Facebook or Craigslist, take the money and buy frosty adult beverages, throw a pool party and congratulate yourself!

    Nerd alert

Thanks for the info. I might actually not be a good candidate for borates, as my fill water is moderately high in TA. I'll see how things go this season with respect to acid usage.

New to SWG - need advice

Great! Watch your FC carefully and use the app to track daily FC loss. The calculators will help set the correct runtime and percentage SWG to compensate.

Noob Mistake- Added Calcium Hypo to salt pool

We're here to help. Let's do this: since this is at the end of another user's thread, try starting up a new one and it'll get more folks noticing it and posting.

Noob Mistake- Added Calcium Hypo to salt pool

You'll be fine. I was using Cal-Hypo for a while and would always get powdery deposits and milky cloudiness in the water after adding it. Just brush it around til it dissolves and swap over to liquid chlorine in the future. You might need to do a little bit of muriatic acid dosing to clear...

    Opening numbers 2022

I think that's a good plan. Doing the water swap now will help dilute your FC and CYA, and depending on your fill water's chemistry might also help put some TA into the pool and raise the pH in the short term. You're going to have to do it sooner or later, might as well not run up the water...

Help me weigh pros and cons of SWG

Also consider that some folks with manually chlorinated pools will raise salt levels up to improve the feel of the water. Most everyone says something like, "when I get out of a chlorine pool, I feel like I have to take a shower. When I get out of a saltwater pool I feel like I just got out of...

Help me weigh pros and cons of SWG

Nope! Just be sure not to spill undiluted chlorine or acid on it. Immediately dilute spills by scooping plenty of pool water out.

    Home Depot MA any good?

Full send. 31.45% is always in stock at the Depot here. I quit counting after 16 gallons last season, now I don't even think twice about their quality.

    Opening numbers 2022

Before you go making any drastic changes you might want to consider doing the partial drain / refill first because it'll help with FC as well as CYA. pH drop tests aren't accurate over 10ppm FC, but I don't know which way it skews. You might invest in an electronic pH meter for something like...

    Very high TA and pH

Keep going. Between June and October of last year I put 16 gallons of MA into my pool and I just quit counting after that. Fill water TA is 260. Salt level "increases" when your pool water evaporates. Fill back up to normal levels and it should return to normal. If you're draining water to...

Dolphin E30 vs S200 vs Nautilus CC Plus (Canada)

We have the Nautilus CC Plus and just love it. But yes, anything larger than a small twig can get trapped in the inlet hole or the mesh trapper thingy on the filter cartridge. For small stuff like pollen, dirt, sand, leaves, everything else it's just spectacular.

Depending on how you feel about warranty on your equipment, permits and stuff aside, you're likely looking at an easy install, especially since a lot of wiring and plumbing is so easily accessible already.

    Okay to store chemicals outside?

First off, welcome to the site, @NtxMelanie !!! You've got a really sharp looking installation there. When I used tabs and shock, I used to keep them in a deck storage bench / box with those pneumatic pistons. The exposed part of the pistons rusted and the box just constantly reeked of pool...

Help me weigh pros and cons of SWG

Your choice. Strips and onboard diagnostics aren't as accurate. I used strips to get mine started up and just watch the SWG numbers. If they start creeping up, I know it's time to put more water in the pool because evaporation snuck up on me. SWGs work on a very broad range of salinity...

SWG pool and spa with water feature reduce acid usage?

This is the driving factor for your pool over time, specifically TA. The well water at my house is TA of 260, so I'm constantly adding acid to keep pH down. With a pool your size, you might consider an acid injection system to automate this process. You also might consider adding another SWG...
