Skimmer baskets and Crepe Myrtle trees

Welcome to TFP! Sounds like maybe he needs to check the strainer basket a little more often. You can filter out finer particles with skimmer socks. May need to skim the surface a little more often using a leaf rake though. Also a good idea to trim the trees a little closer too.

How low can I keep TA to avoid PH creep up?

50 is kinda low, but you could manage it. Anything less than that might cause wild pH swings and should probably be raised. See what sitting at 50 does for you. You could also add borates to your pool. Borates act as a secondary buffer system and can be very helpful in situations like yours...

    Need help deciding

Having it professionally installed is a good idea if you aren't much of a DIYer. Also, with above ground pools, it is very important to level the ground well before installation. This can be a lot of physical work. I would take these things into account.

used tf100 kit fir first time

Moved your topic to a different forum since it didn't belong in the outdoor kitchen forum. Yes, adding acid to lower your pH a little is fine. Have you added CYA at all yet? I'd add enough to get you to 30 but don't retest it for another week since it takes a while for the CYA to fully...

When do you add bleach? evenings?

Evening once the sun is down. Lose less of it to sunlight that way and you get more of your money's worth.

What is the cause of my stain

Calcium deposits itself on surfaces when there is an excess of it.

What is the cause of my stain

Brown is typically organic staining such as tannin staining from leaves or, and this is what I am suspecting, it is iron. It's only under that one rock and nowhere else? Try scraping a vitamin C tablet on the stain. If it lightens up, it is iron and you may need to treat for that.

NOOB Pool and deck almost complete.***DONE***FREE PIZZA*****

Re: NOOB Pool Not Level. What should I do? If it was an inch out of level, I'd say that you're okay. That looks beyond what would be okay to me. That looks like a good 7 inches to me. I think that you're going to have to drain and re-level.

    SWG won't turn on

Depending on the amount of wear on the cell, three years is not really unreasonable. All SWCG cells have a flow sensor that tells the unit when the water is moving so that it can, in turn, generate chlorine. The water must be moving for it to work and the flow sensor shuts the unit down if no...

High CYA Red water clear. FILTER SOCKS V STIFF. WHY?

Re: Aerating/oxygenating the pool water The only way to reduce your CYA level is to drain water. Aerating causes pH to rise and is recommended when people are actively trying to lower their TA using acid additions followed by aeration.

Hard to say. Calcium deposits could account for spots such as these, but they would be somewhat raised and rough to the touch. Can you post some test results?

Another reason not to swim in public pools

Interesting that the pool owner would get the checkbook out for that, especially since it would be kinda hard to connect her case to the pool, as opposed to any other (pick your fomite) place.

    CYA too low?

Welcome to TFP! You are going to need to do the overnight chlorine loss test to really know. After the sun is down, check your FC. Then, next morning before the sun rises, check the FC again. You should have lost no more than 1 ppm of FC over night. If you lost more than 1 pmm FC, then you...
