When to replace and where to buy Jandy CL 460 Filters

So I have been replacing my filters once a year.
After reading though, maybe I can make them last longer?
How often do you replace your filters?
Or can I just take them out, clean them, and get another year out of them if they are in decent shape?

Also, the price keeps going up on Amazon. Last year the ones I got were $180. Two weeks ago they were $200, and now they are $220 as of today. Crazy.

Where is everyone getting their filters?
 
I get them from Amazon. Pleatco if they are not too much. I use mine for 3-4 seasons. As long as they are physically in good shape there is no need to replace them. Every year is a waste of money.

The last set I purchased was from poolguysupply.com.

You should be able to take them out and rinse them and get multiple uses from them. Check out the wiki on them... Cartridge Filter Use and Care - Further Reading

The first set I got several years out of before having to replace due to end caps deteriorating. I have 2 sets that I swap out so I am not in a hurry to get them cleaned and reinstalled. Pull the dirty set, install the clean set, get the pool going again, then spend the rest of the day cleaning the filters at my leisure.

Not the usual to replace filters yearly as many have them for several years without a problem. They're a good size and shouldn't need to be cleaned more then twice a season. Some have a spare set to switch fast and clean the dirty set afterwards for the next swap.
 
I've found Optimum Pool Technologies to be great USA made filters. I purchased 4 CL460 filters last year for $170 but just checked and now they're only $150 from the link below.

Thanks for the link.
I dont think I can soak them in TSP, as I do not have a way to dispose of it without damaging the concrete or my neighbors grass.
Is there anything else I can try soaking them in?

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I can use Simple Green
