Pump priming dry

There are a couple of seals that it could be. It could be the housing seal, the diffuser gasket or the shaft seal. A Gokit will contain all three seals. It’s best to identify where the leak is coming from however. If water is dripping from under the motor where the shaft enters the drivetrain housing it’s likely the shaft seal.

If you see water dripping at the red arrow, it’s likely the shaft seal or diffuser seal. The yellow area would be the housing seal.

Memory serves your motor probably won’t have the rotating switch, but if it does just be careful as instructed in the video. Don’t get any lube on the faces of the seal….you will ruin them. You may have to clean some corrosion on the shaft prior to installing the new one if the shaft seal has been leaking. Scotch brite pads work well for this or emery cloth. When seating the ceramic seal, often times the back of a screwdriver handle is helpful in seating it. The old craftsmen screwdrivers with the round plastic button on the back work well (or similar style) as long as it contacts the ceramic evenly.

When tightening the motor bolts I usually run them snug by hand then draw them up tight in a cross pattern. Top left first, bottom right next, top right, then bottom left. Usually I tighten them in 2 stages. Go around the first pass about half of my final tightness then finish to full on the second pass. It’s probably overkill to do it this way, it’s a pump…. not a rocket ship or engine head….🤣
