I was "gifted" one of these from my neighbor who didn't want to mess with it anymore. He said it needed a new power supply, but I diagnosed the cable as being bad at the swivel. I thought cleaning the contacts would fix it, but there is something wrong inside the connector. I lose continuity in one wire when I wiggle the cord where it goes into the swivel connector with the brass strips. Does anyone have experience with the knock off 2 prong cords on Amazon? I saw some for 80-150ish. OEM is about half what this thing is worth. I am going to do a waterproof splice to make sure the robot runs before even spending that much on it.

This may help...

Thanks for the reply. I did a temporary waterproof splice and got it working, but the impeller only worked intermittently. It either needed a new motor or PCB board. Even with an 85 dollar Amazon cable and a 300 dollar motor box I am at nearly 400 into a well used robot so I just tossed it and kept the only known good part, the power supply. I am trying to give it away currently.

Am I allowed to give something away here? I dont see a for sale section. No one on my neighborhood FB page wanted it.

I do. Bought one two years ago and had my handyman install. It's OK, doesn't swivel like the OEM. I think in a smaller pool it would be OK as it's a 60' cord. Doesn't work well for one that's 36' and 24ish' in some areas. That said, I've used it for two years. Ditching it this year and getting a new robot. Mine's 7.5 years old so it's time.
