Good afternoon,

Do I need to test CH in a vinyl pool on a regular basis? As you can see in my logs, the numbers aren’t crazy.

Additionally, do I need to test alkalinity if my PH is in line? It’s been staying pretty level about 7.5 recently.

I’ll likely test alkalinity periodically, but don’t want to other with an unnecessary test if not needed. I realize it takes very little time and could be done every week without issue, so this is mostly a hypothetical.

Not necessary, unless you have high CH fill water. What is the CH of your fill water? I'd at least test it a couple times of year to make sure it isn't too high. Scaling can happen at high CH in a vinyl liner.

Nope.

Except for calculating CSI, monitoring TA isn't a hard and fast. Need to make sure it stays above 50.

Thanks for the info. Forgot to add this in the OP.

My main reason for this question is that the salt reagents don’t fit in my TF 100 case without removing something. So it’s not just that I don’t feel like doing it, it’s more about the logistics of storing and taking everything out.

I take out the k1000 and put the salt box in or just remove all the boxes and lay the comparator in there on top

I laminated the fc/cya chart & made a pocket out of it with tape to hold all the instruction cards
