Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! **RESURRECTED FOR 2025!**

I already know I'm pulling green. I've never opened crystal clear since I had my pool installed due to the mesh cover.

That’s why I avoid the mesh. You have inground tho, so I probably would switch if I did, too.
Mesh is so much easier to remove by myself too. All leaves blow off easily and I never have to refill my pool at the beginning of the season.

The title says it all. For those who close their pools for the winter and open in the spring, I wanna see your water right after you remove the cover and before cleaning, SLAM, etc.! Whether crystal clear or green swamp, let’s see it!
I posted pics of mine. Keep in mind, I closed November 1st and opened March 16th, LOL. My dark liner hides the dirt well, but I fished at least 20 worms out of there 🥴. Somehow my FC was 9 when I opened. Very strange. lol now it’s y’all’s turn. NO CHEATING!!!!!! 🤣

Not too bad!

If you zoom in, you may be able to see some worms and specks of dirt lol

^^^^^ Liner is only on its third season and already fading. Oh well, I don’t like it anyways and want a different design. 😁

Keep this thread going! Whether you open in March, April, May, June, whatever! And again, no cheating! 😎
I closed in Sept 2024 and will not open until May 2025. I opened cover today to check water levels - we are on drought restrictions and I can only add water on specific days - so we will add water slowly before opening.

Besides all the oak tree leaves it looks pretty good. Water is crystal clear. Haven’t taken readings yet since pool is not open. IMG_2227.jpegIMG_2229.jpeg

She's got a good deal of dirt/dust on the floor, but all in all not nearly the worst its been. The wind has been howling for months, and it'll clean easy peasy.

Welcome back old friend. As Edward Regan Murphy once said :

Just opened her up this morning. Dumped 80lbs of salt and 12lbs of calcium hardness increaser. Tomorrow I will mix in the baking soda and get the CYA in there. Water temp 47 degrees. Off to Hawaii for 10 days shortly so need to get her up and running and safe from a warm induced swamp.

Yes off to get some liquid chlorine. Do you take yours up to slam as a precaution? I never have done that. My chlorine measured 4.5 today which was surprising. I dumped a whole liquid chlorine container in this morning from last year. Maybe it had some strength left. I will test tomorrow since it will be very warm to see after pump has run for 24 hours to see how everything is testing.

I closed so late i just shut it down at 12(?) FC. I mixed it twice over the winter after draining top rain water, and its 9.5 after a full sunny day mixing. I'll OCLT twice for good measure and go from there.

My app is saying it'll be 73, which is nuts, then right back to highs in the 40s/50s.

yeah I will have to do the OCLT as well. I closed late as well Oct 31'st or Nov 1st at FC of 28 I think it was.

I bought 8 bottles a few days ago from Menards. $4.99/per bottle (128 oz.) for 12.5%! Last season, they were $3.99 each 🤬, but even with the price increase, it’s still way cheaper than anywhere else in my area by far — and most of those places only sell 7.5% or 10%. I’m just complaining because I’m not lucky like you SWG people! 😆 I’ll be a jug lugger for at least one more summer lol!
