Drain Plugs for Solar Covers

Has anyone tried installing the 1/2" drain plugs in the solar cover to let water drain through? Looks interesting, but haven't tried using them. Wouldn't you lose some heat retention? Anyway, looking for feedback. :)

You'd lose exactly a proportionate amount of heat through them, being 0.001% (?) uncovered. Too little to even think about caring.

My cover never went on the same way twice with the air pockets underneath. I'd brush them out the best I could, but Murphys says the plug holes would never be exactly where I needed them that day. Lol.

I just brushed any big puddles to the edges into the pool after big rains. It only took a minute. If they got big enough they'd find their own way to the side and mostly drain for me.
