I'm a bit concerned. I've never seen the safety cover so far down into the pool with Ice on it. Of course, nothing I can do until spring. When the cover was put on, the springs were securely tightened. (about 50%). It's a Merlin Green Top grade mesh safety cover. The 2nd one we've owned. This one is only about 3 years old. Shouldn't there be water to help support the cover? Should I be concerned ?

It always looks worse than it is. I drained the early winter / fall rain i accumulated after closing right before it got real cold and mine looked similar once all the snowstorms hit.

As long as it’s less that 18” of sag it’s ok. Different cover manufacturers have different sag amounts. Maybe check yours to be sure, but it’s likely fine.
