Not my pool…but my sisters pool.

2nd opening this year for this brand new pool. Last year upon opening, it had the same crinkled liner (shown in picture). PB said it was due to sump well not being drained. The liner was fixed by PB by draining half the pool and putting the vacuum and filling it back up.

Fast forward to this year and same old crinkle in the liner. Only difference is that the sump well was being drained throughout the winter.

Is this due to sump well? Or due to improper fit of the liner? Leak? Or something else?

Not typically my area of expertise, but the angle of that wrinkle just seems odd to me. Kind of like it wasn't fitted quite right. I would think if it was simply water behind the liner, the bubble or wrinkle created would be more uniform in shape and direction. Let's ask @Mdragger88 for a second opinion.

Is the well being continuously drained? (Auto Pump with a float switch)
If not then it could be from water accumulation between pumpings.
Some properties need more than 1 well point so knowing a little more about the sump system (how it is designed) might be helpful in determining if it’s sufficient.

I agree, It does also look a bit ill fitting. Although it can be harder to tell when it’s one continuous pattern like that with no border. It’s also possible that the floor of the liner has shifted some from ground water making it look askew- hard to tell with water being murky.
I would call him back.
While you can do the vac trick yourself it won’t change an ill fitting liner.
Last time he fixed it was it tight to all the corners including the where the floor & walls meet?
To re seat the liner if it has shifted near the floor the whole pool would need to be drained.
Since its not that old & hopefully in good condition, it may be possible to do but it is risky once it’s more than a year old as they just aren’t as pliable the older they get. Getting the water cleared up you’ll be able to see more of the floor to better assess the condition.
