Hi,
My pentair superflo vs 1.5hp pump, installed new at end of 2017, starting leaking about 4mo ago. I bought a $20 ps-3867 shaft seal/gasket kit and then kept putting off the repair. Lesson learned, last week the motor bearings started screaming, so now I also need bearings. I found a guy who used to have his own motor shop but retired 10 years ago and now does repairs on the side. Good thing since most shops are 1-2wks backlogged - phx in august ofcourse.

My question is - does anyone here know if the aluminum fans are just pressed on the shaft, and any removal reinstall guidance? He called and said he sees no clip or set screws (my thinking then is it has to be a press fit). I know from looking at several YouT vids that the older ones had plastic fans that could be popped of with a flat blade screwdriver or came off as the rotor was pulled out the other end of the casing.
I'm sure he'll figure it out, said he was going call old work contacts, but I figured since he came across as old school pre internet, I'd ask the question here.

I'll also be sure to come back and add the bearing part numbers he used to this thread since I've learned finding pentair motor replacement part info is no easy task.
Thanks for any insight.

motor guy just called again. Alum fan is just press fit on shaft so no issues. Picking up tomorrow.

I asked him if I could refer him and he said yes, so if anyone is near phx (east valley) area and would like his info for motor repair work I can provide it if that's allowed here.

I'm having the same issue here and can not get the fan to stay on the shaft? Does the whole motor need to come apart to press fit this fan? I used a wedge to push the fan out to the end of the shaft all around and is just would not stay in place. Tips or Tricks???

FYI if anyone cares...I took some fine copper wire and wiggled it in between the shaft and the fan small gap where I could and then wedged the fan back out and seems to snug up the fitment enough (for now). #bushfix...
