I’m sorry if this is not the appropriate area to start this thread

Upon opening apparently the pool company broke our pressure gauge, failed to tell us, and replaced it. It is now leaking from there and appears to be cross threaded.
Please see pics and advise if this is something they should be confronted with, and if it’s a problem.

I don’t like to see any drips so I’d ask them to fix the drip they’ve caused. You can also try to fix it yourself. Seems it would require cleaning off and taping again unless there’s something else going on that I am not seeing.

Well it’s almost like the gauge is not designed to fit there the way it’s kinda crammed against. Almost looks like the other was sheared , and the new screw appears cross threaded. After a few min backwash yesterday there was a pretty good puddle collected on the filter “collar”

The gauge does not fit properly and it got cross-threaded because it hit the valve.

They need to replace the gauge with one that fits and fix the threads if they are damaged.

Definitely needs to be fixed.
Thank you. That’s what I was thinking . I’ll admit I’m kinda the “picky customer” and wanted to make sure I’m not over reacting. The icing on the cake is they made no mention of it 🙄 like yep nothing to see here

My hub is steaming. Thinks they should replace the whole back piece that I’m calling a collar (because I don’t know the proper term)

And I was here when it happened !
So not like they “forgot” to leave a note or call…. And there was nothing wrong with ours, it did not need replaced. I guessing it was just an accident, broken during a part of their process, but come on man …

I suspect the filter originally had a bottom mount gauge and the only thing they had on the truck was a back mount. Sometimes you get lucky and there’s clearance to fit and sometimes - you get well what you got. Put them on notice to fix it correctly. It’s their baby now.
