Having trouble getting our pool clear. We have an 80K litre in ground vinyl pool. Our water has been cloudy/milky white for the past week despite running the pool pump/sand filter 24/7 Cannot see the bottom of the pool in the shallow end.

Numbers

Alk 90
Hardness 211
PH 7.6
Stab 80
Chlorine (Free and Total 4.08)

I have ordered a Taylor test kit but will be a week before that arrives......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to TFP!!! :paddle:

Your FC is too low for your CYA and you have algae. Always follow this...Link-->FC/CYA Levels

Add 5ppm of liquid chlorine per day until your test kit arrives.

Then it will be time to follow the SLAM process. Print the instructions out, read them 3 times and keep them with you. Link-->SLAM Process

When you get your kit, post up results and we'll get you going with your SLAM.

I have been following SLAM now for 8 days......... testing at least 3 times a day and adding the necessary liquid chorine to bring it up to the 16 ppm FC
My total chlorine is .5 and last night I did not lose any chlorine .
My water looks clean but it is not clear......just starting to see the bottom in shallow end but certainly not the deep end.

Do I keep SLAM going .......is it common to last for more than 8 days??

Thanks
