Hello everyone. Thanks for letting me join. I just moved to phoenix a year ago so i need an education. I haven't had a pool since I was a kid, I don’t remember much and things have changed since then. I remember how to clean the filters. Googling for help but not finding anything on. See pic. Is that a chemical feeder? I can’t find under pool equipment description. So I finally bought a pool sweeper today “Charlie“ bought Dang time. My question is about the Jandy valve and what position it should be in when using the sweeper and when I’m not using the sweeper? I have 2 returns on the bottom of the pool. What direction does the valve need to be in when operating and not operating the sweeper? 1st pic is when I’m not using the sweeper, and the 2nd pic is when I am using the sweeper. I believe. Don’t remember what position the valve was in this morning 🤦‍♂️ Should It be partially open? Thanks for the help if you can.

Can you post a few more pictures of the overall setup (Wide angle/all equipment, each area (input/output), and don't annotate with circles. We can certainly help you!

What exact pool cleaner did you buy?
Suction side cleaner?
Where are you connecting the cleaner hose to the system?

Also, remove all those loose PVC fittings. It makes it difficult to see what you have going on there?

I believe the item to the right of the circled Jandy valve is a leaf trap in the suction side line plumbed in prior to the pump. Most probably this one or the former model....

Any chance you have a Shasta pool?
Does it have an infloor cleaning system (popups in the pool floor)?

Better pics and thank you, and I bought the Pentair Rebel and I connect right into the basket. Leaf trap thanks. The jandy valve on top next to the sensor is for the water feature. Jandy next to the leaf trap what direction and when should I adjust? Just when I need the pool sweeper? Anyone that can educate me on everything regarding to my pool setup would be great. I need to install the bypass valve still. THANKS

Can you provide a pic from the filter looking back toward the plumbing?
It's all tucked in pretty tight and difficult to see where all the pipes go.

You have an infloor cleaning system. That dome shaped thing at the bottom of the second pic is the water valve. When the pump is running, are the popups on the pool bottom going up/down (maybe 3-4 at a time) every few minutes?

The NatureSoft is a SWG (salt water chlorine generator) control panel. There is no salt cell connected to it - and there is no salt cell in the system plumbing. It looks like it was located between the two unions in the vertical pipe just to the left of the electric panel.

There is a UV box sitting on top of the electric panel. UV is basically useless in an outdoor pool. That big orange ball in the sky provides more than enough UV - for free.

The Jandy valve that is attached to the leafvac has two inputs - most probably, one is from the skimmer and the other from the main drain. This is a normal setup when an infloor system (IFCS) is installed.

After we see a few more pics from different angles, we can better determine the rest.

How are you chlorinating your pool?
How are you testing your pool water?
