Had a somewhat warm'ish 44 degree day so took advantage of doing more upgrades and improvements around the equipment pad area.

The spring laundry list has the following completed now:

* Replaced the grounding wires going to all my pumps.
* Added a heater bypass (woot, finally!)
* Completely redid the wiring mess for the 8 relays n the first of two Jandy RS panels I have (sorely needed, and no longer a mess!)
* Removed my infinity swim pump and associated plumbing (has been dead since I bought the house/pool and have no plans on ever using it)
* Cleaned up pool equipment pad area
* Ran the applicable RS-485 wires from 3 Pentair VSP pumps (installed at the end of last season) to the Multiplexer #2 in my Jandy RS-P16 controller.
* Cleaned up cabling/wiring, for the 3 remaining Jandy Single Speed pumps
* Mounted/installed my Stenner Pump with 7.5 gallon tank for MA dosing and plumbed in the feed/drip line
* Verified correct operation of all 6 pumps and 5 pool lights after re-wiring job and verified power to new Stenner Pump working correctly.

Very excited about the progress made today. Will drain pool in a week or so (assuming ice is fully melted by then) and get ready to refill in mid/late April. Got some potential dates already setup with the water tanker company. Most of all, the season I'm looking forward to dropping my $450/month electric bill (just for running the 6 pool pumps, not including -anything- else), down to around $80/month with the addition of 3 new VSPs. I already run all the math based on trying to keep them around 1600-1700rpms and the cost savings look substantial.

And I have my new Taylor reagents already ordered/received from the TF Test Kits special earlier this month too so ready for water/chemical testing! Thanks again to all TFP'er who have helped educate me over the last 2 years.

You know we like black handles and not blue ones, right ? :ROFLMAO:

But still. Bravo for the parts you worked on (y)

It's the guts of the ball valves we don't like. It's an actual PVC ball, which I know because there was one on the waste line of the pool I inherited and the first time I turned it, out it came. They only last a couple years.

When the time comes use Jandy neverlubes or the Pentair/Hayward equivalents that are rebuildable. The irony is you rarely need to rebuild the ones that have that option.

Beautiful. Really nice. Congratulations. I'm about to retire. An early goal will be to make my pad look that good.

I'll pass along an AquaLink experience. When we moved in, the AquaPure SWG did not work. Turned out there was a little kludgy circuit board with a short cable connecting it to the main board. That cable was touching the top of the Aqualink box. In the mid-day North Carolina sun, the metal was so hot I burned myself touching it. All the insulation on the wire had powdered. The conductors were bare, board fried. After replacing the sensor (yay; new version didn't have a board), I made a hood out of aluminum flashing. Sits about 6 inches above the box and flips up for access. Now with the air at 90F I can easily hold my hand on that top panel.

I'm thinking the same would be pretty easy with your setup. Maybe not as important in Illinois. But worth considering. Electronics don't like heat. Jandy replacement stuff is outrageously priced (as you probably know). $30 for parts and a Saturday afternoon amount to a good deal.

Great work on your To Do list. I would really like to understand what the 6 pumps do? It appears only 1 is going through a filter.
Can you post a picture of the pool.

There used to be 7 pumps if you included the infinity swim but I recently removed that. There are 2 different cartridge filters in place (see signature).

Pump #1: Main filter pump (also passed through a 400sq ft filter)
Pump #2: Beach Jets/Bubblers,
Pump #3: Vanishing Edge
Pump #4: Left Waterfall
Pump #5: Upper Spa and Water Slide (also passes through a 100sq ft filter)
Pump #6: Right Waterfall

HTH !
