Have a leak, been using a lot of water this past month, and I have a solar cover on 95% of the pool, just a little water is exposed.

With water usage from my Flume device, and some math, figure I losing an average of 1/2" of water a day this past month.

I have an appointment with American Leak Detection to come out a week from Friday, but wondering if anybody has used another service in so cal that they would recommend?
The branch of ALD I would use has mixed reviews.

Aquaman is also in the area, and has better reviews for the most part

With a fiberglass shell, I doubt it, that the shell has a puncture. If you turn off the pump, have you checked the skimmer throat area and/or the returns where the connect to the shell with leak detection dye?

This summer I too was losing an half inch of water a day on my gunite/quartz pool. An half inch for my pool's volume is a loss of 300 gallons. I isolated the spa from the pool and discovered the plasterer misapplied the quartz finish around the drain pipes. There was a small gap on both the spa's side drain's piping.

In your signature I noticed you don't have an attached spa/jacuzzi so a leak in the spa is a moot point.

Not actually a glass shell, its gunite refinished in fiberglass. Still I agree unlikely to leak from the body.

I have an old caretaker infloor cleaning system that doesn't work, but which means I have 6 returns in the floor, so kind of hard to get to. But I'll pick up some dye, and try by the skimmer and see what happens.

Thanks
