Had our 14.8k in ground pebbletec pool for almost a year, and everything was great until a month ago when I suddenly couldn't keep FC up. Took sample to Leslie's and found 110 CYA levels, high TA, and low CH. Drained/filled pool and addressed TA and CH. After the refill, FC levels were .5-1 and then dropped. CYA in low 30s.

Think I have some algae taking hold because I see a cloud when I brush. Other than low FC (and TC) and the cloud when brushing, pool looks good. I'm waiting on my TF100 kit to show up, but here is the last test from Leslie's:

PH 7.8
TA 121
CYA 36
FC .1
TC .1
CH 267
TDS 500
Pho 227
FE 0
CU .1

Leslie's suggested shocking...and shocking. Two lbs of pow pow 73 leaves me with <.5 FC by morning.

Hi and welcome! Great job on ordering the test kit. Until you receive that, you can't start your SLAM. In the meantime, add 5ppm of liquid chlorine every day - if you don't have the PoolMath app, download that and it will guide you on how much 5ppm is for your pool size. Please stay away from the pool store and stop adding their recommendations. Add LC every day, brush, vacuum, remove any ladders and clean those, and then when test kit arrives, post a full set of results and we'll guide you from there.

That's the plan. App shows to add 95oz bleach to hit 5. I'll do that later today.

Test kit came in. Assuming I did everything right, here are the results:

Fc 1.5
Cc .5
Ch 350
Ta 80
Cya midway between the 30 and 40 - so 35?

Pool is actually looking really good, and it's slowly been keeping more and more chlorine with each day. I currently have the tablet feeder going, and I've been bumping 3/4 gallon 10% bleach in at night to get it to 5ppm. 5 days ago had 1ppm in the morning. Then 1.5. Then 5-5.5 or so each day after that with it tapering down throughout the day. Still had 5 this morning with only adding 64oz last night. Each day it is more stable. Guessing cya is a bit low for the heat and sun we are currently having in Texas. Thoughts?
