What do you mean by "home items"?
To lower pH you need Muriatic Acid that you can get at any hardware store or at a Walmart.

MA doesn’t go bad either, so depending on how frequently you need to dose, don’t worry about buying a large bottle. Just don’t store it close to your chlorine.
