Hi everyone, I am trying to understand why something happened today and I thought the group may be able to help out. Last night we got a bunch of rain so this morning I went out, shut off the pump, switch the valve to Waste, and turned the pump back on. I let the water get down to a lower level, shut the pump back off, switched it to Filter, pump back on, etc. I walked over to the pool and noticed for a little bit (5 seconds or so), it looked like it was blowing either dirt or brown DE back into the pool from the return outlets. It was very fine particles and it was not constant, but it got me trying to understand why that would happen. I did the same thing again but this time only let it run on Waste for 5-10 seconds and then switched it back to filter (turned off the pump between switching the valves) and it was good so I am not sure it happens all the time, but it just makes me wonder why switching from waste to filter would introduce any DE and/or dirt into the pool. Any thoughts on this?
