Pool suction poor

My vacuum won’t go in the deep end and unfortunately I can’t afford a robot. I have backwashed, checked all hoses, installed new tires, increased variable speed pump to the
max setting (4), adjusted the regulator valve all the way tight, checked for leaks everywhere and made sure skimmer basket is clear. Deep end is spotless. Shallow end’s a breeding ground. Once vacuum hits incline it cowardly retreats. I’ve read that I can increase suction by adjust three way valve, but I don’t know what that is. The dial showing pressure is attached. This vacuum is very highly rated, so it must be a deficiency on my end. Please see photos of what I got. Thank you!

Can you take a pic of how you have the hose connected to pool's suction line. I assume it connected at the skimmer somehow?

If you're able, can you remove your skimmer basket and take a photo of the ports at the bottom of the skimmer.

Do you have a float/diverter valve at the bottom of the skimmer, covering the ports?

One hole open, the other containing vacuum hose with regulator valve, which I’ve tightened to the max to increase vacuum power, at the expense of accumulated surface debris.

Assuming you have the hose in the rearmost port from the skimmer mouth, you should have plenty of suction. I assume you're not seeing any suction from the other port? Since you only have one suction line going to the pump, the front port is likely connected to the main drain. Is that correct? I also assume there are no suction valves away from the pad around the pool?

I have the same cleaner. If that was my pool, running at high speeds would pull so much suction it would collapse the hose.

Having seen the set up, maybe others have some ideas.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, hose is in rearmost mouth and other port has no suction. It's looking like i'll have to call a service to inspect or get a manual vacuum or else dive in and carry the Poolvergnuegen to the shallow end repeatedly throughout the day. I'm really at a loss, having seen the reviews.
