Anyone else flying drones for a service or fun? My wife got me my first drone (Phantom 3) several years ago for Christmas and I’ve been hooked since! I got my Part 107 in 2019 and started offering photos/videos on the side.

Now flying the Air 2S and have a friends Mavic 3 that I’m using for a few projects. Thinking about getting into FPV soon, but still researching custom builds vs out of the box.

I have the DJI mavic air 2. Lots of fun and it takes pretty good pictures and video.
I love DJI’s Mavic series - the Air 2 is great! Real estate pictures have been a big request this year and the Air 2S has delivered. I love giving people a chance to fly it - in an open area of course . The DJI drones are easy to learn on.

Those are awesome! I want to get out west to fly and get some sunset and sunrise pics. The sunsets that people catch in areas like that always impress!

Sometimes, I'll happen to notice a really nice sunset and then rush to pull my drone out and set it up lol. I've missed some because I'm not prepared.

I started with a Phantom and have upgraded half a dozen times since then. I currently have the Air2. I don't use it much but I'll probably upgrade again when the 2s replacement is released. The technology is kind of addicting.

If anyone wants to learn, i taught the kids with this one. Its easy to fly and really took a beating and kept coming back for more.

In case the link ever dries up, its a U818-A
That’s a solid price! The earlier kids get used to flying them the better IMO. I think more and more jobs using them will come up as time goes on. I was a judge in a drone competition for middle/high schoolers last spring. They used the DJI Tello and programmed it to fly short missions in a class room. I think I had as much, or more, fun as them haha!

When drones didnt exist! 800 sized heli with Autopilot + Canon EOS 5DMkII gimbaled stabilized, with 900mhz Downlink.
12,000 rig at that time. :hammer: The upside is that it payed for itself on the first 2 jobs.

The 5D alone was worth more than most consumer level drones now days! I bet the quality was superb though!

Before the Phantom was released, DJI sold controllers/parts where you could assemble your own DIY drones. I almost did this but just when I was ready to start, the Phantom was released. Since that time, DJI has really set the standard for innovation and high quality products.

100% agree. I've explored other brands, but always come back to DJI.

My local college has an Aviation program and they offer "Drone" classes. You can get a minor in drone flying that includes earning your Drone Certificate. Pretty cool, I graduated from this same college 22 years ago with a degree in computer science with a minor in physics....no fun stuff back then.

I have a DJI Mavic 2 Pro, I need to play with it more. I really like it...but have not used it that much.

Nice pic! I think I’d go back to school for a minor like that!

Maybe you guys could help out the Ukranians with a little delivery on top of a Russian Tank. What's a little HEAT amongst friends!
