I have a small leak in the pressure side plumbing underground near the pump and I am looking for advice on the best fix. It’s my fault, I am a dumba$$. I was tired of walking around the fence to get to the equipment so I put a gate in and whilst pounding in a post I skewered a line. 
Just dug it up this morning and it is a small puncture. Should I cut it out and rejoin with a fitting (if so do I have to drain the pool below the returns first?) or is there some kind of patch (tape or glue) that can fix it? I am attaching a picture.

Tough break. 
I suspect you may need to repair it with a PVC loop (see clip below). You'll need to ensure you have a good, clean, mating surface on that spa/flex line. Perhaps one of our members may have other ideas though, so stick around for updates.
