Hello all and thanks for such a great community of folks - very informative for a newbie such as myself.
I bought my house in the last few weeks, inheriting the pool with attached spa - all new to me. I had algae, debris and flow/pressure problems, to say the least, not to mention the need to resurface and fix the deckoseal (all that's for much later...)
I shocked the pool and vacuumed. All looking good. No activity at spa jets and high pressure at the DE filter, both in pool and spa mode, so took apart the Jandy DEL60 and cleaned the grids.
I added DE, and pool pressure is back down where it should be.
In spa mode, I now get great performance from 4 of the 6 jets, but 2 have no activity and that mode still displays high pressure at the filter (enough to get the filter to leak a little) so I'm running in spa mode as little as possible while diagnosing.
That's where I am up to now. I used a wrench to take the top off one of the spa jets and tried to get an electrical fishing wire down there to clear an obstruction, but I hit plastic which makes me think I'm at a hard bend that I can't get the fish wire past, or there's more to disassemble (or something else I don't know about - there's a lot of that). I'm covered by the Home Warranty company who will send someone out in a few days to diagnose - $75, but in the meantime, I'm still open to the idea of fixing myself. Don't know if I want to go to the expense of buying a shopvac without knowing it would fix the problem, but I did think of maybe going the bladder / hose route.
I'd be interested in knowing anyone's thoughts...
Many thanks
