Hi all,

I'm wondering if I should raise my CYA level. I'm concerned because a CYA of 30 isn't recommended based on the chlorine/ CYA chart. Results on my taylor k2006 was about 35 for CYA. So should I raise CYA or just aim for target FC of between 4-7? Thanks!

Are those pool store results.. Learn to trust your own. If your testing is coming out at 35, then you round up to 40 and set your target FC by the good ole FC/CYA Levels somewhere between 5-7. It doesn't hurt to be on the high side to accommodate variations in the weather and surprise batherloads. For some that live in the southwest where the sun is higher in the sky they use a higher CYA level to combat that. But you should be fine.

Ditto the other's here. It's natural to want to "check" your test results at the pool store but we find your Taylor kit results are way more reliable. Go with 40 and your CYA/FC chart. It will serve you well and looks like you're off to a great start.
