We just started construction on our new pool today. We are installing a 35 foot Ultimate Fiberglass pool from Leisure Pools that I ordered from them direct. I am using the installation company they provide.
My friend who is a home builder gave me the idea of a tanning ledge in the pool a few years ago, which really sounded cool and got us excited about a pool. Late 2019 my wife saw one of the designers who's blog she follows, put in a fiberglass pool with a tanning ledge and hot tub combo. She showed me and we were sold! I reached out and got going. There aren't any local dealers, so we've been working with their salesman who is out of Los Angeles for the last year. It's tough not shaking hands, lots of trust in the process.
We could of had the pool installed in November, but due to Iowa weather, our concrete/landscape people suggested holding off. At that time they gave us a date of April 19th. About a month ago after some back and forth, they confirmed May third, which wasn't a big deal at all, and true to their word they showed up May 2nd. I was introduced to the installer 2 weeks ago and he has been incredibly helpful talking me through the process the week leading up. The crew is him and his brother, originally from Indiana, now Texas, and they are pros. 1 day in and they could have had the pool in the ground by 4pm, but a storm came through and stopped everything.
This forum helped me a lot. I found a thread with a guy who is doing the same thing I am which was great to find someone else going through the same process. Provide some much needed validation! His build starts in a week or two, so I'm excited to see how that goes. I haven't provided any of the technical details, and can over time if there is interest, but wanted to keep it to the point and make sure others knew that it was real and to see the process through. I've attached 2 pictures I took of their work in one day. I have many others and am t
