Snek in the Pool

used the broom to put him in the pool net and relocated him to the woods a few houses down.
Pro tip : The length of the pool pole makes for some high velocity launching. You probably could have hit the same woods without leaving your yard. I ‘helped’ some frogs ‘relocate’ last year.

You're doing it lacrosse style. Try a counter balance with weight, trebuchet style...You'll get some distance.

We had a fairly large rat snake lounging on our patio after a meal a couple of years ago. As much as I tried talking DW into letting him use our yard as his home, she would not relent. I got him into the pool net and was walking down the street to relocate him to a nearby park. Next thing I knew, he was coming up the pole directly toward me. I promptly dumped him into the nearby gutter.

If I remember correctly, baby copperheads have yellow tails. I'm going to guess...rat snake...
It’s hard to tell in that pic, but judging by the shape of the head it looks like a harmless species, not a copperhead.

You are correct about the tail on a copperhead.

Classic baby copperhead. Beautiful pattern. But I do not want it in my pool.

It is not cool
I'm not a fool
I do not like them Mr O'Toole
I do not like them, in my pool!

With great apologies to Ted Geisel...
