New Construction Maryland 10-9-20 Finally!!

Pool construction finally started Friday morning after waiting since May for permits mostly due to the Maryland Health Dept. Pool is 40x18 with a 10x10 tanning shelf, 3.5'-9', APC Autocover, All Pentair equipment, Intellicenter, Saltwater, 3 Microbrites, Cartridge filter, Variable speed pump, 920 cleaner, future 400k propane heater. The plaster will be Diamond Brite Cool Blue and the coping will be a tan colored travertine. Haven't picked out the tile yet but more of an aqua light colored blue.

Even though the seasons over we are all pretty exciting its finally being built. The guys really worked their asses off and had most of the steel in by Saturday afternoon. Weather permitting we should have concrete by the end of the week.

Great start and good progress in such a short period of time.
Suggest you order your test kit now if not already done. Practice by testing your fill water as that will help set a baseline for your chemistry. Also review your first 28 days process (after water is added) based on what plaster you select. The mfg. should provide you this info and you need to follow it.
 
Here are some updated pics. Deck was poured last week, ended up being close to 1400 sqft. The plaster was done yesterday. Went with the Diamondbrite Marlin Blue. 2 trucks of water yesterday and filling the rest with the hose last night and today. PB is supposed to add the acid this afternoon then finishing the grading tomorrow.
I'm doing the electric myself, yesterday I installed the Intellicenter, wired the 4 Microbrite lights, installed the transformer for the lights and finished the conduit that will power the autocover. Pulling the feed from my house either this evening or tomorrow. I'm going to run 100a to the pool panel because I may feed my future pole barn from it.

PB dropped of the filter (Clean and clear 200) and the pump (2.2hp VS) this past weekend. Hes setting the pad tomorrow so I'll be wiring the pump then.

Does anyone know if its possible to control the autocover from the Intellicenter?

I just posted a reply to another member who was asking about an auto cover and Intellicenter. You can not control the cover from the Intellicenter. It can only be opened or closed from the switch or keypad. But, you can add an expansion module to the Intellicenter that will give you some automation options to allow the cover status to determine events within the Intellicenter.

You will need a separate low voltage wire ran from the Intellicenter to the auto cover box and the expansion module.

Wow. Great progress in past 4 weeks. Looking at the picture at the guy next to the seat in the deep end, the pool is really deep - is that 8ft? Did you measure the total volume of water you added to the pool? keep us posted.

Yes, they have been working pretty quick. Its about 9-9.5' in the deep end. I've had 2 full trucks of water and my hose has run about 24 hours. I'm about 18" from full so 4-5 more hours. So I just need to measure the GPM to figure it out.

Not sure how I missed this one! So similar to ours in many respects, rectangular, autocover, deep, big deck, destination pool, etc. Love that tile!!!! One aspect we love is that we put the lower side fence at the bottom of the graded out slope. The fence is not visible when in the pool and barely so when on the deck. It gives a wonderfully open view to the woods behind us, which is really similar to the view you have. Here's a few pics if they help any with finishing touches/design ideas.

I've seen the pics of yours, I love your set up. Very similar! I'm actually going to build a gazebo in the same spot you have yours. I made the deck 16x35 on that end. Was looking at a 10x14' from Costco but haven't made a decision yet.

As of now I have no fence planned. My county offers the option of an autocover or fence.

Here is my gallon calculation:
Two 7K gallon loads of water Sunday.
Hose ran for 29 hour. Tested hose and got 3 gallons in 40 seconds. Should be 7,830 gallons +/- but that volume could differ.
One 7k gallon load of water yesterday...but we didnt empty the truck but it was Dang close.

Now the truck is an 18 wheeler that holds more that 7k gallons but that all he can legally carry. Did he have more or less?? I donk know. So my best guess is somewhere between 28-30k gallons. I do have a large sundeck with steps all the way around and 2 seats in the deep end. PB says that takes a lot of volume.
 
So about this Impala SS..... I sold my '66 Impala SS about 5 years ago due to life changes. Regretted it ever since! '65 and '66 are my two favorite years and I one day want to get another. I had some rare options on my including power windows (super rare especially on an SS) and factory A/C.

Wow, that sounds the like a sweet one!! My favorite would be a '62. But I've liked the '65 since back in the day when Car Craft magazine built a project car. I actually have 94-96 Impala SS cars. Right not I have a 100% stock '95 with 66K miles and a race car Caprice. I've owned about 10 different ones over the past 7-8 years. Lot of fun to work on and play with.

The pool looks great! You mentioned something from Costco - we installed this earlier this summer. We added a ceiling fan and lights and really like it.
