I passed the OCLT and used the bucket filter to get rid of iron. My water is crystal clear. My testing numbers tonight are as follows:
FC 3
CC 0
PH 7.4
TA 90
I started with CYA 30
Poolmath is suggesting lowering TA with baking soda and adding 7.8 oz of liquid chlorine to bring FC up to 4. What should I do?

I think you're doing great. :goodjob: I wouldn't worry about the TA so much right now. It should fall more later as you control the pH. As for the FC, you certainly don't want algae, but you know more than anybody that chlorine reacts with iron, so take any increases cautiously. It would be ideal to bakance according to the FC/CYA Levels. Increase slowly and keep some sequestrant handy just in case.

Thanks so much! I will continue to monitor the pH and FC.

Did you take pictures of the before and after Iron removal? Or maybe of a blob of saturated batting? This has been a big year for Iron, I'm always looking for fresh material.

Good job on taking control of the chemistry right away! 🏆
Yes, here they are. Thanks, I was amazed with the outcome. No additional chemicals used to get iron out of the water. We used the bucket filter for 2 days and removed it today. To be on the safe side, we are using the sock method tonight to catch any left over iron that could be lingering. FB_IMG_1591296911728.jpg20200604_181328.jpg
